The Gaming
Alliance Middle East, comprising of Microsoft Xbox Gulf, Sony Middle East and
Africa FZE - PlayStation Division, Pluto Games and Red Entertainment
Distribution, has announced that the sixth edition of the region’s most popular
video game event, GAMES, will take place from September 26 till 28.
“As PlayStation being one of the founding members of GAMES – we are very excited to announce the 6th edition – GAMES13. GAMES13 is an eagerly anticipated event where gamers have the unique opportunity to get their hands on the latest and best PlayStation games prior to their launch. The scale to which the event has grown is a testament that the Middle East is a key gaming market. This is a very exciting time for PlayStation and we look forward to sharing our regional gaming announcements with our fans – maybe even some surprises ... so stay tuned!”, said Robert Fisser, General Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) in Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India.
In its sixth edition, GAMES is expected to showcase the most anticipated video game software and hardware from the world’s leading developers, publishers and manufacturers, including Activision, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft Xbox 360, SEGA, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE), Take 2 Interactive, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.
“Video gaming is a big part of the youth culture in the region and Xbox has only seen it grow over the years, the rising popularity of GAMES act as a gauge for the same. Since the last GAMES, we’ve launched Halo 4, Forza Horizon, Gears of War and the much awaited ‘Xbox LIVE’, Xbox’s online service, and 2013 will only get fans even more excited!” declared Melvin Thomas, Xbox Category Manager, Microsoft.
While GAMES13 will follow the three-day format it has adopted since 2009, details on timing and the final venue will be forthcoming.
“Pluto Games is very proud and excited to take part in this year’s upcoming GAMES show. GAMES 13 will be even better, bigger and more sophisticated, reflecting the increased maturity and growth of gaming in the Middle East.” states George Stavrinos, Director of Games for Pluto Games. “We are looking forward to a great variety of exciting new titles to be displayed, offering the Middle East gaming public a fascinating and memorable experience.”
Tristan Irons, Marketing & PR Manager for Red Entertainment Distribution said “These are very exciting times for the gaming industry, there are so many great titles coming out we can all expect a huge amount of content at the event. This is surely going to be the best gaming exhibition ever witnessed in the Middle East”.
With over 23,000 people attending GAME12 and an overwhelming response for a bigger venue, the GAMES organizers plan to announce a bigger and better venue that can cater to the growth of the show.
