Themed, “Building Sustainable Peace
through Sport, Together.”, the Forum program will offer a wide range of
workshops and plenary discussions focusing on strategies to encourage Arab and
global leaders to build sustainable peace through sport policies, and to
showcase opportunities for sport-based initiatives to become active as a major
factor in shaping societies and fostering the dialogue between nations in
conflict.

One of the special sessions that will be run in
the two day event will revolve on how sporting events can be used as soft diplomacy between
conflicting parties. A recent example to the success of such discipline is the 2011
Qatar Peace and Sport Table Tennis Cup and ICC World Championship Semi Final
between India and Pakistan.
