Americana Kicks-off to the World with Cristiano Ronaldo
Arabian creativity goes global

The huge success of a regional campaign created by KFC MENA - part of the renowned food and beverage company Americana Group – featuring the world’s number one soccer layer Cristiano Ronaldo, has resulted in the campaign going global. The KFC MENA team at Americana Group is taking the initiative to KFC’s international markets, where local franchise holders will launch it in their respective countries.
“The KFC-Ronaldo campaign was the brainchild of the KFC Arabia regional marketing team at Americana Group, which has extensive experience in dealing with celebrities to produce mega advertising initiatives that appeal to the Arabian consumer,” said Borhan El Kilany, Executive Vice President Marketing & Business Development, Americana Group.

“This particular campaign featured the world’s best football player endorsing the KFC ‘so good taste’ in Arabic – a strategy that proved to be the perfect recipe for success, as it resulted in increase in sales for KFC across the region. The KFC Arabia marketing team at Americana Group has proved itself distinctive in the KFC global market and this has resulted in the campaign being expanded worldwide. The international initiative will see Cristiano Ronaldo becoming the ambassador for KFC for six weeks of this year’s FIFA World Cup, which takes place in Brazil during the summer,” he added.
KFC Arabia’s ‘Kickin’ it with Ronaldo’ Facebook application gave KFC fans the chance to have a photo with the soccer star, an initiative that triggered a high level of social media activity. Brand engagement   was recorded as increasing by 137 percent, while overall brand sentiment went up by 20 percent. Such was the impact of the online activation that KFC MENA and Americana Group scooped an Effie at the Effie Mena Awards 2013, the region’s premium marketing awards programme.
“The KFC-Ronaldo campaign developed by KFC MENA marketing team at Americana group proved so successful that it was presented at KFC’s most recent global marketing planning meeting in Texas, USA. The decision was then taken to extend the campaign’s impact to KFC’s global markets by exporting it from the Middle East to the world,” said Adel Mounib, Chief Marketing Officer, Restaurants Division, Americana Group.
“The initial KFC-Ronaldo campaign promoted KFC’s ‘so good taste’ in 74 cities across 12 markets in the Middle East region, which is home to over 600 stores,” stated Hesham Tahssin, Regional Marketing Director, KFC MENA, Americana Group. “The global initiative will involve 4,000 KFC restaurants worldwide, operating in 23 markets across three continents. We believe that more than one billion people will be reached through the campaign as it is expected to generate a great deal of excitement in KFC’s core market demographic of 18-34 year old football fans. What is particularly significant is that marketing campaigns such as this are usually implemented in the Middle East after their global success. This is the first time that creative Arab minds have resulted in a local initiative that is to be launched globally,” he added.

The recent achievement of Cristiano Ronaldo having scooped the prestigious Ballon d'Or in January this year is expected to contribute to the KFC-Ronaldo campaign’s success in the Middle East and  globally.

According to General Manager of the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Scott Butcher, going green for businesses is no longer a public relations exercise, but a serious commitment to sustainability that should be taken by both corporations and individuals.

“Hotels such as the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel can play an important role in transmitting this message – to guests, to staff, to corporate and sales contacts, and even to schools and youth groups, to stress the importance of changing habits to change the future of the world,” he said.

Dubai Marina, Dubailand and Downtown highlighted as most searched rental locations in April

propertyfinder.ae, the UAE’s leading property portal, revealed that Dubai Marina, Dubailand and Downtown were the most searched locations by renters on the site during the month of April – three communities that have consistently figured in the list of top rental neighbourhoods . Achieving 17 percent of the total searches, Dubai Marina remains the hot favourite amongst renters given the community’s waterfront ambience and popularity amongst expats. In second place was Dubailand, a residential district that has received much attention lately for its affordable pricing and upcoming infrastructure, garnering close to 9 percent of the searches for rental properties on the site. In third place was Downtown, with 8 percent of the views.

“Since we released our quarter one report recently, we’ve noticed certain trends that are recurring and others that have accelerated. Whilst Dubai Marina also topped the list of rental communities in quarter one, we see Dubailand move up two spots from its 4th position last quarter. Downtown, on the other hand, has moved down one place since quarter one, probably due to the surge in rents given its status as one of Dubai's most affluent, expensive and vibrant districts. Interestingly, despite rental increases, we see Arabian Ranches, a premier villa community that did not figure in the top 10 in Q1, move up to 9th place in April. With escalating rents in Dubai a source of concern for many residents, it is perhaps not too surprising then that well-priced areas such as Dubailand are moving up the list of most searched communities,” said Renan Bourdeau, Deputy CEO of propertyfinder.ae.

Aside from rises in leasing prices for apartments and villas, Dubai is also seeing an increase in rental demand given its growing expat population and visitor numbers, increasing corporate activity and the Expo opening up trade opportunities. “Compared to January this year, views of Dubailand properties have risen by 50 percent whilst Dubai Sports City properties have enjoyed a 33 percent hike in renter interest. With most of the upcoming residential supply expected to be handed over in Dubailand, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Sports City and Jumeirah Village – areas which serve the middle income housing segment – it seems likely that more people will be driven to renting in these areas over the course of this year as leasing prices continue to soar,” added Bourdeau.

@qnetofficial QNET highlights the advantages of drinking ‘Real Water’

QNET highlights the advantages of drinking ‘Real Water

Drinking 8 glasses a day result in shinier hair, younger skin, and a healthier body

QNET, a prominent direct selling company in Asia with regional headquarters in UAE, launched today a holistic ‘lifestyle enhancement campaign’ targeted on health, wellness and fitness.
The first component of the regional awareness campaign highlighted the importance of drinking ‘Real Water’, which is the first vital component for a healthy lifestyle.  ‘Real Water’ is water that has been refined, energized and alkalized to maintain its purest form.

QNET is focused on providing products and services that help address some of the challenges caused by today’s urban lifestyle, such as poor quality of drinking water, obesity, bad air quality, damage to skin and overall wellness.
Through the ‘Real Water’ campaign, QNET would like to raise awareness about the importance of water in our daily lives and how QNET can help you lead a healthy life with ‘Real Water’. Whether you want shinier hair, younger skin, a healthier body (or all three!), pure, clear water is the world's best beauty elixir.
QNET’s panel of experts have identified that water is best absorbed into the human body when it is – Refined, Energised and Alkalised. Three of its exclusive products help turn regular water into ‘Real Water’ in three easy steps:
HomePure Water Purifier refines water with seven stage-filtration system that purifies water while allowing natural trace minerals to pass through, providing natural, purified and clean water. The filter is believed to absorb and remove 97% of chlorine; 99% of turbidity; 99% of the total 46 types of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) as well as heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides and chemical compounds that cause long term health problems.

Amezcua Energy Shell energises water. Keeping the water in stagnant storage tanks and forcing it to travel through miles of pipes, strip water of its natural energy and oxygen, disrupting the hexagonal clusters. By the time tap water is drank, it is usually devoid of any healthful properties. Dehydrated cells find it difficult to absorb dead water leading to the dehydration of the body. The Energy Shell allows water to raise its frequency by resonance, and thus becoming structured. When water is energized, the molecular structure becomes smaller and many of its vital, life-giving properties are restored allowing it to be easily absorbed by the body.

Alkaline Stick ‘alkalises’ water. Due to urban lifestyles and a ‘fastfood culture’, most people consume food products that have high-acidity such as soft drinks, certain types of meats and junk food, which causes low energy, sickness, disease, poor digestion and weight gain. Drinking alkalized water is the solution to avoid all these complications, with the body’s pH levels balanced, ‘Real Water’ helps maintain good digestion and enhance immunity. The Alkaline Stick consists of thousands of ceramic balls, tested and approved by NSF International for its alkalizing properties that counterbalance the body’s acidity levels.

Speaking on the awareness campaign, Khaled Diab, Regional General Manager (MENA) for QNET, said: “The Middle East region’s hot climate makes it more important for people living here to stay hydrated and take good care of their health. With the ‘Real Water’ launch, QNET is helping raise awareness on the importance of drinking water which helps in maintaining good skin, aids in digestion and in overall health. Drinking the right kind of water, which is pure and energized makes a big difference.”
“Making sure everyone is taking the recommended amount is key, along with encouraging people to maintain an active lifestyle, commit to daily exercise, eat a wholesome diet and take nutritional supplements to ensure preventive health care,” he added.

Approximately 70% of our body’s mass is made of water and according to a number of doctors, drinking a total of eight glasses of ‘real water’ a day fulfils the necessary requirement of this precious liquid the body demands.

Al-Futtaim Motors, a key supporter of the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition

Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, is showcasing its Hybrid Smart Taxi technology at the Middle East and North Africa Transport Congress and Exhibition through the 2014 Hybrid Camry Smart Taxi project.
Organized by The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in collaboration with the Dubai Roads and Transport and Authority (RTA), the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center from April 27th to 30th 2014.
At its 96 sqm stand, Al-Futtaim Motors will showcase a Hybrid Camry Smart Taxi, along with a cut-through model of the Toyota Prius, the most popular Hybrid car brand globally.

The Hybrid Camry Smart Taxis features GPS navigation installed with the latest Dubai maps and a Taxi dispatch system that allows the driver to receive orders from the call centre, directly on the screen with the exact location of the customer. The vehicles are also fitted with an integrated meter, and a Wi-fi router that provides high speed internet to the passengers, in addition to a multi-function car reader that reads NOL or other payment cards, and can also swipe traditional credit cards.
Jon Williams, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors said: “This event’s slogan is Grow Your City with Public Transport. We are very thankful to RTA, our long-term partners, for giving us the opportunity to take part in the growth of this nation’s mobility, being the largest supplier of public transport vehicles in the UAE.”
For many decades Al-Futtaim Motors has been playing a dynamic role in the UAE public transport sector due to Toyota’s strong reputation in the industry. Synonymous with quality, reliability and durability, Toyota vehicles offer low total cost of ownership and high resale value thanks to their fuel efficiency and great after sales service, characteristics that make them number one choice for fleet operators.
In 2013, Al-Futtaim Motors introduced Hybrid Camry to the UAE fleet market and adapted the vehicles to the needs of Dubai Taxi Corporation. With the introduction of Hybrid Toyota vehicles to the market, the demand for sustainable mobility is expected to grow in the coming few years due to the several financial and environmental benefits that these cars offer.
Being a key promoter of innovation within the industry, the congress will tackle issues such as connecting the GCC countries, building revolutionary metro networks and creating a competitive regional freight network, while sharing world class practices and standards.
