Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Conference Centre sees strong corporate and luxury event demand within one year from opening

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, a member of the luxury hotel group Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, has announced that despite it being less than one year since it first opened its doors to the public in November 2011, demand for its Conference Centre, Mezzoon Ballroom and banqueting services has been robust among major corporate and signature luxury events held within the United Arab Emirate’s capital.
First opened on November 1, 2012, Jumeirah’s only property in Abu Dhabi has successfully staged major international events such as the official launch of the Sky News Arabia news broadcasting service, a special presentation and promotional event highlighting the Range Rover 4, and the IATA World Passenger Symposium which was held in October 2012. Coming major events will also see Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Conference Centre play host to the World Luxury Fashion Week, which will debut in Abu Dhabi from 25 – 28 November 2012. In addition to a continuous calendar of various distinctive corporate events, the distinctly modern and luxury landmark venue has also become the region’s wedding venue of choice, garnering awards such as “Middle East’s Leading Wedding Venue”, World Travel Awards 2012, and “Overall Best Business Hotel in the Middle East”, Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2012 to name a few.
Speaking in the lead up to the hotel’s participation at the Global Meetings & Events Exhibition (EIBTM), from 27 – 29 November, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain, Doris Greif, General Manager, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers stated: “Both awareness and bookings for our Conference Centre have continued to grow. The state-of-the-art technology, refined luxury interiors, gourmet banqueting options and in-house support services available at the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Conference Centre have provided new options for clients to hold bespoke events in spectacular surroundings. We see our Conference Centre as a setting of elegance and “theatre” for clients to add their own individualised flair, and this approach has been warmly welcomed by event organisers and their clients.”
Designed to enhance the seamless coordination of events and uninterrupted flow of visiting guests and delegates, the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Conference Centre, including its Mezzoon ballroom, all 13 meeting rooms, Chairman’s Suite, Bridal Suite, Business Centre and Events Showroom, is completely and uniquely housed on the same Podium 4 Level. This has the additional advantage of providing privacy for corporate and social groups. As one of the largest conference centres in Abu Dhabi, the Mezzoon ballroom alone can accommodate up to 1,400 guests in a conference setting or 1,000 guests for a sumptuous and individualised seated banquet dinner. For smaller events the ballroom can easily be divided into four separate sections. The spacious pre-function area with its indoor terrace views over the hotel’s lobby atrium provides guests with a sense of “theatre”. This design feature was specifically included as a successful event staging element, essential in establishing a pre-function ambience of invitation and open interaction.
Given the size of the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Conference Centre, its strength for clients is its ability to provide bespoke services and tailored settings. A fully dedicated Events Showroom provides clients with an eclectic selection of pieces from which to browse and choose from and stems from the property’s total inventory of 317,000 quality European-designed silverware, glass and dining ware items, Italian linen and other carefully crafted decorator items. Additionally, clients have the freedom to personalise colour schemes and create design themes. Given the bespoke philosophy and STAY DIFFERENT™ approach to hosting each event, a dedicated event planner is on hand throughout the pre, post and event stages to provide professional assistance, expertise and guidance. The personalised support extends from banquet setting coordination through to the banqueting itself. Here too, various banqueting menus and “kits” based on experience and expertise are provided as examples, however clients have the choice and are encouraged to individualise their menus based on their own personal tastes and specified themes. In order to aid clients with a visual concept of banqueting options, a full menu of food and beverage choices are available on iPads for perusal. Through the employment of the latest technology, event spaces are also designed then and there during the on-site consultation process, so that clients have a visual mock-up of how their event space will appear on the day, and can immediately take copies of the plan with them.
The audiovisual technology employed by the Conference Centre is state-of-the-art and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers has partnered with SWANK, a US-based international leader in event audio visual operations, which has a permanent presence at the property and is available throughout to provide the necessary professional technical support.
