@Jumeirah at @JEtihadtowers recognised as UAE’s ‘Gourmet Capital’

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers has asserted its position as the ‘Gourmet Capital’ following an unprecedented number of culinary awards. Six restaurants scooped nine accolades and two chefs received special recognition.

In the ‘What’s On Abu Dhabi’ awards, Scott’s was acknowledged as Abu Dhabi’s best destination for Seafood and British cuisine, Tori No Su won Best Japanese Restaurant and Li Beirut won Best MENA Restaurant. In the ‘Time Out Abu Dhabi’ awards the French inspired Brasserie Angélique won Best New Restaurant and Best French Restaurant.
In addition, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers was given wide spread recognition in the ‘What’s On Black Hat Guide 2013’ and picked up the most ‘hats’ in the whole of the UAE. The hotel’s restaurants were awarded:
  • Brasserie Angélique x 3 hats
  • Li Beirut x 3 hats
  • Quest x 3 hats
  • Scott’s x 3 hats
  • BiCE x 2 hats
  • Rosewater x 1 hat
Two chefs also won awards, Chef de Cuisine Jouni Ibrahim of Li Beirut restaurant was awarded ‘Abu Dhabi Gourmet Regional Chef of the Year 2013,’ in the Abu Dhabi Gourmet festival 2013 edition and Muhammed Ali Shiddique of Quest Restaurant received second place in the ‘Abu Dhabi Time Out Young Chef of the Year 2013.’
In the Russian Standard and MMI Bar Academy Platinum Fusion competition 2013, Gatis Ozols from Ray’s Bar won Best Bartender and both Ray’s Bar and Quest restaurant were awarded second place.

It is very humbling that the general public and aficionados of the epicurean world have recognised us in this way, and we appreciate and respect the responsibilities that come with these accolades. We hope those outside of Abu Dhabi will visit for a gourmet getaway to taste and judge for themselves if our assertion of ‘Gourmet Capital within the Capital’ is justified.”
