"I have been involved with Dress for Success since I was a 19 year-old art student living in New York. As a vintage clothing collector, I often donated items to the program and after moving to Los Angeles, I worked with the local Dress for Success chapter and volunteered to style women for job interviews,” said Liz Goldwyn, Vintage Vanguard co-creator. “I saw first-hand how Dress for Success empowers women to gain professional and financial control over their lives. As someone who feels empowered by clothing in my professional life, I want to encourage other women to get to know and support Dress for Success. "
“Vintage Vanguard is a project that evolved from my and Liz Goldwyn's passion for vintage clothing and a desire to incorporate our fashion designer to customize and re-work our archives for a good cause,” said Karen Elson, Vintage Vanguard co-creator. “Dress for Success was a perfect partner and their message is inspiring. Along with Moda Operandi and Vogue's Tonne Goodman, we are hoping to host a fun-filled and philanthropic event that will raise money for this incredible and empowering organization whilst being fashion forward.”
“Dress for Success has a proud legacy of providing women in need the resources to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families from career development tools to the right and impressionable outfit for the job,” says Lauren Santo Domingo.  “The Vintage Vanguard project is such an inventive way to bring light to fashion’s roots in Dress for Success through these designer recreations of Liz and Karen’s vintage collections. It only feels natural for Moda Operandi to be a part of this project.”

The Vintage Vanguard project benefitting Dress for Success is also made possible through sponsorship from Atelier Swarovski. Atelier Swarovski’s sponsorship of this initiative combines Swarovski’s long history of backing creativity in fashion that in turn supports the empowerment and well-being of women.
