@property_finder @PFUAE 93% of property seekers start their search on the web

Over 90% of users carry out their property search online rather than in print, through a broker or from personal recommendation reveals propertyfinder.ae, the UAE’s leading property portal, based on a recent survey posted on the site. Asking which information sources property hunters would use, the poll results showed that close to 100% of users start their real estate journeys on the web.
Michael Lahyani, CEO and Founder of propertyfinder.ae, feels that the Internet penetration taking off in the UAE coupled with a generation brought up online and familiar with the digitally connected lifestyle is encroaching on the doorstep of traditional classified advertising. “Whilst buyers and renters still use real estate agents to complete a transaction, they're utilising online sources to conduct research and look for homes first. Guiding consumers through what in many cases will be the largest transaction of their lives, property portals such as propertyfinder.ae ensure that an extensive home search can be enjoyed without having to dart into open houses or drive around looking out for ‘For Sale’ or ‘For Rent’ signs,” said Lahyani.

Increasingly, online technologies are aiding offline behaviours such as property buying or renting, believes Lahyani. “Shopping on our own site has increased tremendously; today we attract over 10 million visits a year. However, our users don't just visit us for listings; they also come to be informed about real estate paperwork, a neighbourhood or area and what comparable homes are selling for. We’re delivering across the entire spectrum – the serious buyer and renter and the property enthusiast,” added Lahyani.
