TEXPO celebrates YAHSAT Satellite Programme and Satellite Tracking Ground Station at a Gala Dinner

TEXPO celebrated its flagship project “Satellite Tracking Ground Station” for YAHSAT Satellite Programme in style at a Gala Dinner.
TEXPO is a global technology infrastructure provider, application developer, business & IT consulting organisation with over 15 years of outstanding track record and a high profile client base. TEXPO is headquartered in Dubai and operates in Houston, London, Riyadh, Ras al Khaimah and Karachi and offers IT solutions expertise to leading private and government organisations across all domains of information technology including IT strategy, application development, infrastructure and outsourcing.
The launch of the YAHSAT Satellites marked a seminal stage in the UAE’s Satellite program, as the first ground communication satellite station in the GCC. Global technology infrastructure specialist TEXPO, is one of the leading Solution and IT Services partners for the Satellite Tracking Ground Station.
This project is an exclusive showcase for the United Arab Emirates and the YAHSAT Satellite Tracking Ground Station, which has been built by Astrium for YAHSAT’s satellites Y1A and Y1B and functions on the KA frequency. The project is unique globally in its network management system because it is controlled completely by IT and networking systems, and the use of commercially available equipment instead of proprietary solutions. TEXPO has been an integral part of the installation including complete cable networking installations, sub-communications systems testing, and electrical installations and compliance procedures with International Quality Standards.
At this Gala Dinner, which was held at The Royal Ballroom - The Palace at the One & Only Royal Mirage, TEXPO’s CEO Dr. Sarfaraz Alam hosted partners from Astrium, EADS and YAHSAT to celebrate the success of this major project. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Alam said, “We are proud to be such an integral part of a seminal moment in the United Arab Emirates’ telecom revolution.  Right from its Network Management System, inventive sourcing process and sustainable equipment, the YAHSAT Satellite program has been a unique experience for our highly experienced team.”
Dr. Alam continued, “For TEXPO, this remains our flagship project because this project not only demonstrates the technological leadership of the country, but also stands testimony to the fact that strong collaboration can deliver great results”.
Director of United Kingdom Trade and Investment, British Embassy, Abu Dhabi, Mrs. Frances Moffett-Kouadio addressed the occasion and said, “If you want to do business in Abu Dhabi, you have to look at partnership, and I congratulate TEXPO, Astrium and all the partners, because you understood that many years ago. You have come and delivered a phenomenally impressive project”.
Mr. Aidan Joy, MD Secure Satellite Communications Systems for Astrium Limited, addressed the event saying “TEXPO began working with us in 2010, starting with the installation process and now are very much an integral part of the team doing the commissioning and integration activities, that have been both implemented in the UAE and overseas.” He continued by thanking TEXPO for organising the event, and said “The key to the success of this significant project, has been the strong partnership shared with YAHSAT, key suppliers and supporters, including TEXPO.”
Also speaking at the occasion was Mr. Nagib Chahine, Director - Service Development & Delivery, YAHSAT said “This project showed how a good partner is needed to achieve success. TEXPO not only helped us through Astrium, but they also played significant role in installation.”
This black-tie event was well attended by representatives and delegations from the UK and French embassies, dignitaries from Astrium EADS, UAE Army, executives from YAHSAT, Thales Alenia Space (TAS). The guests enjoyed exclusive performances of the internationally acclaimed British stand-up comedian John Moloney and DC Jazz Band.
