RUGBY LEGENDS DOING IT FOR THE KIDS

CNCF team attracts rugby royalty for Sevens and gala dinner

Dubai, November 19th, 2012:  Some of the biggest stars of international rugby will be pulling on their boots in support of the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) for this year’s Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens.

With a squad that boasts more than 300 international caps for their respective nations, fans can expect a quality display of rugby when the annual event gets underway.

Springbok legend Percy Montgomery will be making his first appearance for CNCF in this year’s Sevens and he really keen to do his bit for a great cause.

“I’m really looking forward to pulling on the CNCF jersey and getting out there in support of the kids,” he said.

“I can’t wait to run out in front of those incredible Dubai crowds and soak up the atmosphere at what is definitely one of the best Sevens events of the calendar.

“I hear from our captain that we are defending the veterans title for the 6th consecutive year, so no pressure.”

The action doesn’t just take place at 7he Sevens, with the CNCF Gala Dinner kicking off an action-packed weekend, on November 29.

The black tie affair has become one of the biggest parties in town in recent years, with rugby legends swapping their jerseys for tuxedos in support of the Foundation.

The evening will be hosted by TV presenter Jonny Gould and guests are set for a hilarious night of entertainment followed by an unforgettable performance from the Rick Parfitt Junior band.

With diverse credentials hailing from Nik Kershaw, Girls Aloud, Lionel Richie and Lily Allen plus a pedigree from Status Quo, they will tick all the ‘rock you’ boxes.

“The boys tell me it’s a great night and the real highlight of their week in Dubai,” added Montgomery.

“I just hope I don’t have an early match the next day because I’m really looking forward to letting my hair down that night.”

Joining the Springbok on and off the pitch will be All Black Scott Robertson, Samoan Apollo Perelini and a host of England and Lions players including CNCF regular, Chris Sheasby.

Fans have the chance to get up close and personal with the boys at the CNCF Gala Dinner and everyone is encouraged to cheer on the team to victory at 7he Sevens, look out for the orange shirts!
