The Café Creates Traditional Lebanese Dishes with a Contemporary Twist Giving Classic
Tastes New Contemporary Flavours
Café Blanc has recently opened in The Eastern Mangroves, Abu Dhabi. The
new venue hosts both an intimate indoor dining area and a relaxed outdoor
shisha terrace which overlooks the beautiful Mangroves.
Creativity is at the heart of the menu which infuses traditional Lebanese
dishes with a fresh, modern flair. The extensive menu offers hot and cold mezze
such as hummus, labneh, fattoush and tabbouleh for cold, and for hot offers falafel,
shawarma and grilled halloumi.
For meat lovers the menu provides tender lamb cutlets cooked to
perfection, meat skewers, marinated platters and mix grill platters. The menu
finishes with an array of sweets such as the ‘mafroukeh’, a creamy nut pudding,
‘sultana’s delight’ which blends cool vanilla ice cream, light biscuits and
exotic loukoum and coffee sauce and ‘mouhallabieh brûlée’ a fresh take on the
French classic.
“The beautiful new development in the Mangroves will offer Abu Dhabi a new
dining destination. It seemed only natural that Café Blanc would locate in the
new bustling scene. We have created a
contemporary, relaxed dining experience where friends can gather for an
informal coffee and eat food that they can share,” said Nabil el Hajj,
operations manager of Café Blanc, Abu Dhabi.
In additional to the sweet and savory food there is an extensive drink
menu which offers cocktails, syrup based drinks, teas and coffees. The house
cocktails include ‘alef layleh wa layleh’ which mixes fresh avocado, rose
syrup, milk, jellab and dry apricot and ‘shallal’ which blends rose syrup and
black current syrup with your choice of fizzy drink.
All tableware and accessories have been designed exclusively for Café
Blanc giving the venue a unique feel and personal touch. The indoor area has an
array of carved tables and intimate alcoves for a cozy dining experience. For a
tranquil ambience enjoy traditional Arabic coffee while overlooking the Mangroves
on the outdoor terrace.
The restaurant is now open all week.
