NM Art Gallery, a
leading showcase for affordable contemporary art, is pleased to present Size
and Scale Are Not the Same, a group exhibition which features 8 acclaimed
artists from Pakistan, and is staged in collaboration with Dubai Community
Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC) at the Gallery of Light (Mall of The Emirates),
where it will run from March 4 to March 10, 2014.
The opening reception
with the artists will be held on Tuesday, March 4, from 6:00 - 8:30 PM.
NM Art Gallery developed
the exhibition in collaboration with Lahore based Gallery 39K, a project space
that works to provide a platform for emerging artists, as well as encourage an
experimental dialogue in Pakistan.
The eight artists
featured in the show are: Rakhshanda Atawar,Rabbania Shirjeel, Rabia Ajaz,
Imrana Tanveer, Aleem Dad Khan, Zahra Jewanjee, Julius John and Abdullah
Qureshi. Their works deal with the complex interplay between the material and
the abstract, through a rich visual vocabulary, and a host of techniques and
media.
