Gulf Photo Plus is pleased to announce A Window Inside, an exhibition of portrait images from Afghanistan by renowned documentary photographer, Lana Slezic. Inspired by a local photographer's old box camera in a Kabul market, Slezic began capturing this extraordinary series of photographs portraying Afghan women and girls – a subject she had focused on one year prior in her book project, Forsaken in 2007.

Mall of the Emirates brings back a ‘World of Fashion’

International runway chic, the latest beauty trends, fashion and art exhibitions and the region’s best designers come together for the hottest event of the year

For the second year in a row, Mall of the Emirates will take the spotlight by hosting the hottest fashion, beauty and arts event of the year: World of Fashion. From October 3rd – 16th, Mall of the Emirates will transform into a live catwalk featuring non-stop runway shows, beauty demonstrations and exhibitions for shoppers, visitors and anyone with a passion for fashion to revel in. Recognised as a platform that will position Dubai amongst the ranks of the world’s leading fashion destinations, World of Fashion is set to be bigger, better and infused with more glamour than ever before.

World of Fashion will lay out the red carpet with an ‘Evening of Glamour’ on October 3rd, unveiling their new haute couture collections from Etoile. Following the grand opening, each day for the following two weeks will feature a new event with fun and sassy themes such as ‘Shoe Playground’, ‘Hottest, Newest, Latest’ and ‘Fashion and Art’ which will include a masterclass with world-famous style illustrator to the stars, David Downton. World of Fashion’s catwalk shows take centre stage however, and Mall of the Emirates will present over a week of show-stopping, high energy fashion shows from leading luxury and high street brands available in the mall, giving shoppers the added advantage of scoring the latest Autumn/Winter collections right away. Moreover Mall of the Emirates will be producing an exclusive Style Guide and World of Fashion Events Calendar which will be included in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar and distributed in-mall, allowing visitors to plan their fourteen days of activities and take home the latest fashion tips.

Mall of the Emirates is also promoting fashion with a cause by joining hands with nail experts NStyle to create a special edition nail polish called ‘Fashion Dome’. A Mall of the Emirates exclusive, this vibrant red nail polish - one of the must-have colours this Autumn/Winter season, will make its debut for World of Fashion. All proceeds from sales of ‘Fashion Dome’ will go towards Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. ‘Fashion Dome” will be on sale starting October across all NStyle outlets and during the World of Fashion event.  

World of Fashion has grown to become the premiere luxury shopping and fashion event for the region, with its unveiling of seasonal collections, avant garde pieces and tie-in with the arts. This will be Mall of the Emirates’ second consecutive year hosting this event.
