K1 KICKBOXING - MUAY THAI – BOXING - 21st September 2012

KO Promotions Presents KO16
K1 KICKBOXING - MUAY THAI – BOXING
1 NIGHT, 1 RING, 10 BOUTS, 20 FIGHTERS,
2 WBC INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP

It has been long awaited, but now it’s time for
Dubai’s elite fighters to strut their fight fit physiques and stand strong once again, as they engage in battle for the next fight night festivity at the Moevenpick Ibn
Battuta Gate Hotel on the 21st September 2012. Eye catching for the ladies and
adrenaline pumping for the guys,  these fighters have prepared to wage war
against their opponents. After a long summer break, and literally through blood
untitled event - 2.jpgsweat and unmanly tears, it is the moment these fighters let their actions speak
louder then words.
More so for  Kyrgyzstan’s Marat Zhumanaliev, coming back into the ring after
being on a break since 2009, ready to prove he is World Title bound.  Standing
212cm tall and weighing 140kilograms, attracting much attention since arriving in
Dubai, crowds will flock to see if the punch matches the physique.  The man on
the receiving  end, Ashraf Suleiman hails from Tanzania,  and in comparison  to
Zhumanaliev is shy of 30kg and 26cm, but by all means not be underestimated as
he’s very seasoned travelling all over the world to compete.  These two fighters
have 1 aim, to walk out of the ring with the WBC International Challenge Title
belt.   The co-main event features Iranian, Yaser Samadi and thailand’s
Petchtanong Banchamek, both masters of their art  and as Promoter Zack
Taumafai believes, “It will be an elite display of expertise”.   As exciting as these fights will be, KO Promotions have announced a extraordinary special guest in two time K1-Max Champion, Buakaw Banchamek,
who is possibly as loved in thailand as he is world wide by all adoring Muay Thai
fans, as Manny Pacquiao is in boxing.  Taumafai said: “It is a great honour to be
hosting Buakaw in Dubai and also getting the up and coming fighters to meet one
of their idols”.    Buakaw has had an astounding 238 competitive competitions,
winning 205 of them with 53 by way of knock-out.
On the other end of the spectrum, the only ladies bout of the night is an admiring
Sauren07.jpgBuakaw fan, debutant Lisa Redman who will be facing Amina Mhumbria from  Tanzania.  Both girls coming from previous boxing experience and now entering  the Muay Thai circuit.  On a normal day, Redman demands the floor of an emirates flight but come this Friday, she plans to control the 6x6 ring to claim her first victory in Muay Thai.  With 3 days remaining, all  twenty fighters will congregate  at the nerve  racking  official weigh-in  at the  Press conference being
held at 4pm, Thursday 20th September 2012

The event is sanctioned by the World Boxing Council.
