Language Transforms
Thinking And Ignites Energy
Positive words
increase productivity in the workplace and in life, according to UAE-based
learning consultant, Carol Talbot.
She acknowledged that the use of positive
language can transform people’s thinking at the deepest level and that your
ability to use language could be correlated with your level of success. “With around 615,000 words in the English
language at our disposal we probably only use 3,000 on a regular basis. A study
of CEOs of multi-national organisations highlighted their ability to use more
words to motivate and inspire their teams.” “When
people are disengaged, they sap and drain the energy of others, including
clients and customers. To increase productivity it is essential to ignite a
positive energy,” Talbot said. She suggests her ‘Fired Up Formula’ as a
palatable recipe for change, one that gives individuals the opportunity to tap
into their inner leader by igniting from within themselves. Talbot is considered by some to be the
region’s leading expert and Master Trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming
(NLP) having worked with more than 20,000 people across multiple sectors in her
twenty year career. She
explained that language is a ‘filter’, and not just a means of
communication. “Language directs our thoughts and determines how we
structure the reality that we create in our thoughts. “The
key lies in structuring
your language in such a way that it directs thoughts that enable you and the
people you lead to get the results you want,” Talbot
added.
She advised that the human mind only reacts
to what you feed it. “Positive words,
affirmations, and empowering statements, have powerful effects on humans. The
language you use has a massive impact on your state,” Talbot concluded.
