Savoir-vivre de luxe - Spring/Summer 2013 Collection
Extravagant parties and the pure “joie
de vivre” are the inspiration for Aigner’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Our
journey takes us back to the French Royal Court of the 18th century – to the time
of Marie Antoinette, the onetime dauphine and later Queen of France. This
season’s icon is Daphne Guiness, a woman, who knows how to celebrate herself very
well and who expresses her opinions with sophistication style and
self-confidence.
The unique designer clothes for this
season’s Fashion Show are characterised by the incredible combination of
elaborate materials, linear forms and voluminous silhouettes.
Glamorous glass pearls, metallic-look
textiles, delicate chiffons, Swiss lace, exclusive prints and floral patterns
together define this amazing fashion look. Aigner’s Chief Designer, Christian
Beck, took his inspiration from a fantasy world full of frippery and freshness;
a world where baroque elements are given a modern interpretation. Here the
artistic charm of the baroque period mixes with the vibrant graffiti and street
art found in the world’s fashion capitals, setting the mood for the collection.
Once again, the Munich brand has
spared no effort this season in using the finest quality leathers, top calibre
craftsmanship and innovative design. The leather accessories collection is
inspired by luxury and an eccentric lifestyle. A variety of smooth, embossed
and coarse-grained leathers are combined to create a unique and exclusive line
of top quality bags. Soft nappa, iridescent leather, and a triple mix of
ostrich foot, python and perforated leather, are all used to convey a summer
collection with a style and spirit all of its own.
Seductive femininity exudes from the
line of perforated bags. Reminiscent of the “Style Parisienne”, clasps are in
vivid colours, embossed with 3D adornments that sparkle like gems to catch the
eye.
As always, Aigner draws inspiration
from the equestrian world in its metal hardware details throughout the collection.
The forms are clear and significant, the edges are emphasised, yet at the same
time accompanied by softer styles. Sometimes they are classic and with clean lines,
sometimes noble and sophisticated and sometimes playful and frisky.
Short-handled bags are very much the central theme and they reveal a new image
thanks to their surfaces and colours.
The choice of names also reflects the
savoir-vivre and the French charm of the period in which Marie Antoinette
lived. For example: “Marie” with its cigarette cut and decorative rosette in the vibrant
colour of hibiscus. Sophisticated and vivacious – a patroness of the arts: the
shopping bag “Daphne”
made of robust smooth leather is an
authentic work of art with its paintbrush effects in neon colours.
The splendid pouch bag “Dauphine” made from the softest cowhide really
lives up to its name – the heir to the French throne. This luxury accessory has
a certain “je ne sais quoi” its artistic embossing has been produced with the
help of a special technique using rotogravure.
The “Honeycomb” model is both lively and modern. It is made of embossed
buffalo hide that resembles a honeycomb due to the way it has been processed it
is available in neon pink, white, cognac and black.
The Spring/Summer 2013 collection also
boast a new design for Aigner’s classic “Icon Cover” the use of tapestry gives a vivid baroque look, à la
Versailles.
Summer 2013 also sees a real explosion
of colours in both clothes and accessories. The bright colours typical of the
French patisserie Petits Fours, along with tones of champagne were the
inspiration for the expressive range of colours presented by Aigner. The
palette includes all the colours of the rainbow, radiant with intense nuances.
Strong colours such as hibiscus, jade and iris create the mood, enhanced by
soft summer shades of almond, buttercup, caramel and champagne. In addition,
the “Floral” design adds a touch of light, and is characterised by neon
colours.
