CREATIVE WRITING: FROM SHORT STORY TO YOUR NOVEL - Hayley Doyle will help!!

Have you had an idea for a novel but just never got round to starting it? Perhaps you attempted the first chapter... then deleted the whole thing wanting to start again? Do you have day dreams of becoming a writer, but never find the time to actually write?

A special writing course has been created to be held once a week at Traffic Art Gallery in Al Quoz, starting Monday 21st January 2013 at 7pm. Each session will look at a specific way of writing a short story, building up to finding your own perfect writing style. This will give you the confidence to begin writing the novel within you.

The course is open to anybody with a desire to write, even if you have never tried creative writing before. All those participating must be prepared to write a short piece after each session to discuss and share with the group the following week... and don’t forget your notebook and pen!

Professional writer, novelist and actress, Hayley Doyle, is leading this special course for those who want to write, write! She has a Masters degree in Creative Writing: The Novel from Brunel University in London, where Hayley studied under the supervision of the legendary Fay Weldon.  She won the Curtis Brown Award for novelists in 2010 and for the last three years Hayley has been writing plays for children in Dubai. The course structure will be as follows: 

Week 1           -           Improvisational Writing

Week 2           -           Introducing and Creating Characters

Week 3           -           Historical Fiction

Week 4           -           Zeitgeist

Week 5           -           Out of Your Comfort Zone

Week 6           -           From Story to Novel

Whilst it is recommended that budding authors undertake the entire course of six sessions, it is possible to attend specific sessions that are of interest or as time permits.
