For the women’s collection, urban style goes bohemian this spring with a collection full of playful and personal style. Snug patchwork jackets of leather and suede, graphic-printed and fake fur waist jackets, frilly blouses and long-sleeve tops in matt metallics are in this season. Delicate cotton voile dresses and graphic-print dresses are covered in fortune teller symbols for a sense of city mysticism. This bohemian feeling continues in to the woman’s accessory wardrobe with big jewellery, belts and thigh-high stretch suede boots.

@Nikotinmusic Nikotin announce debut album release and launch concert

Dubai-based hard rock band are set to release their debut album "Panodrama" which includes their hit track 'Overloaded' -  this track that also features a crowd-sourced initiative, the first of its kind in the region, that patches in the voices of the band’s local and International fans.

From L to R: Frederick Mondol, Irfan Omar, Neil D'cruz, Kenan Bairouti & Walid Khalife

Dubai rockers, Nikotin have announced that they will be performing a very special concert at the Hard Rock Cafe on March 8th 2014 to celebrate the release of their debut album, Panodrama. The album release and launch concert caps off an extremely busy and fruitful two years for Nikotin, who since their formation in 2009 have supported several International artists, the likes of Nickelback, Maximo Park and The Kooks to name a few, live in concert.

With a sound that harks their classic hard rock influences that are subtly diffused with impressive melodic riffs, the 5 piece collective will perform their full length debut in its entirety for the very first time.

Through the album setlist, the band will launch into an exploration of their melodic resonance while keeping with their eclectic and grungy hooks that have become their signature front and centre. Also amongst the 8 tracks is "Overloaded" - a crowd favourite at their live shows that instantly catapults the audience into a roaring symphony of the tracks memorable chorus. For their debut album, Nikotin have woven in the voice of their loyal fans by devising a 'crowd-sourcing' idea that gets their followers a whole lot closer to them. The band will express their gratitude with special thanks and a mention of all the names of those who lent their voice for the song's chorus, on their CD inlay.

Produced by Elvis Garagic at Soundstruck Studios in Dubai, the album is an ode to Nikotin's history, distilling a culmination of their individual and combined experiences into 8 tracks bursting with character and energy."It didn't come fast. It certainly didn't come easy. But it's here and we couldn't be happier with the final outcome. This album is the soundtrack to our lives and hopefully the first of many to come!" says Cruize, the lead vocalist when asked what it feels like to be a heartbeat away from release date.

The band are looking forward to unleashing "Panodrama" upon a host of special guests at the Hard Rock Cafe on March 8th with a first time preview before the album hits the stores thereafter.

@property_finder @PFUAE Abu Dhabi rents rise by over 20 percent in 2014, reveals propertyfinder.ae

Abu Dhabi is following its glamourous rival, Dubai, as the emirate engineers a recovery that could pave way for a new phase in the performance of its real estate market. Following the ‘live local’ policy and the removal of the rental cap last year, rents have ticked up in the capital, according to propertyfinder.ae, the UAE’s leading property portal.
“Up until the beginning of 2013, rents in Abu Dhabi were traditionally considered to be higher than those in Dubai. However, just as the housing decree was passed late last year, we revealed a decline in Abu Dhabi’s rental prices even as rents in Dubai continued to rise, narrowing the price gap between the two emirates. However, with the removal of the rental cap and the number of new tenants in Abu Dhabi increasing due to the relocation of government workers to the city, rents in the emirate are seeing an upswing,” commented Michael Lahyani, CEO and Founder of propertyfinder.ae.
Reporting an overall hike of over 20 percent in leasing prices in December 2013, propertyfinder.ae has also revealed individual rent rises in Abu Dhabi’s popular neighbourhoods. “When we ran the numbers on Market Price Live this month, our up-to-the-minute data centre, Hydra Village for instance, already showed an increase of three percent from December 2013 figures. Rents in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, on the other hand, have risen by over two percent,” said Lahyani.

The latest move by the government to regulate rental prices in the capital was announced earlier this month. A rent index, expected to be introduced soon, will use market data to set fair rents for each of Abu Dhabi’s 10-12 residential zones. “Numerous residents have been forced to downsize due to the surge in rents. So the hope is that the index will protect tenants and landlords by maintaining prices at competitive levels as rents are expected to rise further this year,” added Lahyani.

@digc2014 Property developers race to make Dubai the ‘Garden City’ before Expo 2020, as DIGC shortlists its Grand Finale participants

“Best of the best” landscapers shortlisted to battle it out in 1st Dubai International Garden Competition

Real estate players are racing to give Dubai’s properties a ‘green makeover’ with its own unique identity -- in the same way that Venice in Italy is famous for its ‘underwater streets’ or canals, while Cape Town is famous for its hilltop houses overlooking the sea.

After weeks of heightened suspense and anticipation, the wait is finally over as the final list of participants in the first-ever Dubai International Garden Competition have been announced. The list was unveiled at a VIP event that brought together senior representatives from the event patron Dubai Municipality, event partners and hopeful participants.

Participating companies are as follows, Mirak Irrigation & Landscaping, Toscana Landscaping & Pools, Jenny Flowers, Spring Rose Landscaping, Waho & Vogue, Miracle Garden, Terra Verde the Landscape Solution, Greenable Landscapes, Orchid Garden Centre.

The Middle East’s biggest gardening showcase will be held from April 3rd to 6th at The Venue, Downtown Dubai at the foot of Burj Khalifa -- the world’s tallest building, developed by Emaar Properties. The event is eagerly anticipated by real estate investors looking to give their properties a makeover in time for Expo 2020, while boosting the value of their properties through stylish landscaping; as well as players in the tourism and leisure markets.

The participants include architects, botanists, designers, engineers, garden manicurists and horticulturalists among others. A recurring theme among the entries is the emphasis on eco-friendly solutions ideal for Dubai’s arid climate, balancing natural beauty with innovation.

According to Nasser Khan, CEO of the competition organizers Purelife: “Our judges from the UK have reassured us that in all their years of judging competitions worldwide, these are some of the most stunning concepts they have ever encountered. Purelife believes that this creativity is inspired by Dubai’s reputation as a ‘City of the Impossible’ that touches the sky. Visitors will be even more astounded when these concepts are brought to life right before their eyes. Although the event is only four days long, the concepts they inspire will live on until Expo 2020 and beyond.”

Engineer Taleb Jalfar, Director of  Parks & Horticulture Department at Dubai Municipality, expressed his optimism about the upcoming event: “We are confident that the outstanding innovation and eco-friendliness shown by participants in the Dubai International Garden Competition will put Dubai high on the map of landscaping globally. This is not just about landscaping; it’s about encouraging tourism, family bonding and healthier lifestyles outdoors.”

The organizers have expressed their appreciation to the event’s generous supporters, companies include Dubai Municipality, Emaar, Dubai Tourism Commercial Marketing, Dubai Calendar, DEWA, Danube Buildmart and Al Baddad.

Interested landscaping organizations, businesses, community groups, architects and other participants can register or find more information on www.digc.ae

@MCFC Pellegrini Speaks About Cup Final Ahead Of UAE Fanzone Event

Manchester City FC manager Manuel Pellegrini has spoken to fans in the UAE about the chance for his team to win the first trophy of the season this Sunday in the Capital One Cup Final at Wembley.
It comes as the club have revealed a special free-of-charge Fanzone event will be held at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi for the big game.
The Fanzone is open to all supporters and starts at 5.15pm with the game kicking off at 6pm.
Responding to questions from members of the official Sky Blue membership scheme in the UAE, Pellegrini said it will be a major day for everyone at Manchester City.
“A cup final is always special and this one is a chance for us to take a very positive step forward this season,” he said.
“Do we talk about winning trophies all the time? No, we don’t and that is the correct way to do things.
“Manchester City is now a major club and only at the end of the season can you look at what you have done. That is the time to celebrate."
When asked about Manchester City’s chances in the Champions League he added: “People will keep talking about the Barcelona game, but we are still in that competition.
“The Capital One Cup gives us a chance to lift everyone and then we go from there and hopefully keep improving.
“And of course the League is a truly important trophy as it shows what you have achieved over the full season. Again, this cup final will help us with that part of the season.”
For several seasons, Manchester City have organised FanZone events at Zayed Sports City for major matches.
This one will be outdoors on Football Pitch One, which is next to the tennis stadium, with refreshments available through the evening.
Pellegrini said: “It was wonderful to see so many City fans on my recent trip to Abu Dhabi and they will once again be really supporting us in this Cup final I am sure.”

A new generation of clothing, a revolution led by the brand, which more than anyone else has based its successful living on creativity and innovation. The Jogg Jeans are an electrifying new hybrid product category at Diesel, which combines two staples of the casual wear: denim and sweat
The woven and knitted fabric has the look of a jersey weaving, giving the garment 360° elasticity. The circular weaving technique highlights the lightness, softness and comfort of the fabric combined with a perfect fit, while the indigo dying of the garment strengthens the idea of having an all-in-one product. But the real revelation is the final effect: the Jogg Jeans are an illumination for the senses. This unseen combination of techniques translates into a denim illusion from the outside and a sweat look from the inside.
Jogg-jeans are available in different styles both for women and for men, including jackets. The waistband drawstrings, the side stitching, the coin pocket with the Diesel flag as well as the materials used in the production make the Jogg Jeans substantially different.

@DubaiBoat DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW GROWTH CONTRIBUTES TO ROBUST REGIONAL MARINE INDUSTRY

22nd edition showcases 430 boats valued at AED 1.8 billion
The show’s largest-ever superyacht to be showcased along with 42 global and regional premiers and 750 exhibiting companies and brands

Dubai International Boat Show 2014 has experienced robust growth in tandem with the Middle East maritime market’s surge in growth due to a range of factors including major coastal developments, soaring consumer confidence and accelerated boat manufacturing activity. Hosting Expo 2020 is also set to have a significant impact on the marine industry in Dubai and the UAE, acting as a catalyst for economic growth, marine industry experts say.
Robust show growth is evidenced by a 20% participation of new exhibitors among the 750 companies and brands at the show and 42 global and regional premiers that are scheduled to take place. In addition, over 430 boats valued at AED 1.8 billion will be displayed at the 22nd edition of the show. Dubai International Boat Show organisers have confirmed 30 luxury boats exceeding 21 metres, which includes 19 spectacular superyachts.
The Dubai International Boat Show 2014, the region’s leading leisure marine event organised by Dubai World Trade Centre, is expected to draw 26,000 visitors from 70 countries from 4-8 March at Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi. Reflecting growing international interest in the Middle East as a key maritime market, over 70% of exhibiting companies come from overseas, highlighting the show’s international status. Participating exhibitors hail from more than 50 countries including the Maldives and the Philippines for the first time.
One of the show’s main attractions is the 88.5-metre-long superyacht Nirvana, built by Oceanco and exhibited by Edmiston, at the stunning Marina Display area. Nirvana is one of the world’s top 50 longest superyachts and the exhibition’s largest-ever superyacht to date. Nirvana is crafted using the world’s most exquisite materials and features two helipads, six decks, a stage for live performances, a 3D cinema and more. It has a range of 6,800 nautical miles, a maximum speed of 19.5 knots and can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins with 27 onboard crew.
Plans for the world’s largest and fastest-ever all-aluminium yacht, the SILVER-FAST 77m, which is currently under construction, will be announced by UAE-based BehneMar Yachting Consultancy. The SILVER-FAST 77m will be fourth in the company’s Silver Yachts line, complemented by the locally-built 85-foot-long Blue Dubai Dhow.
Strong Maritime Growth
Boat building is a key driver of growth in the maritime industry, as UAE luxury yacht builders plan to build 18 superyachts – those 24 metres and longer – exceeding 850 metres in total, as reported by US-based ShowBoats International Global Order Book 2014. The definitive guide to the world’s luxury superyacht industry ranked the UAE as the world’s ninth most productive manufacturers of superyachts.
Market research undertaken by Dubai Maritime City Authority reveals that Dubai’s maritime sector is a major income generator for the Emirate, contributing AED14.4 billion to Dubai’s GDP and supporting more than 75,000 job opportunities across the UAE due to integrated infrastructure, world-class maritime regulations and services.
With boat purchases highly correlated with consumer confidence and gross domestic product, the MasterCard Index of Consumer Confidence scored the UAE’s consumer sentiment levels at 94.7 with UAE consumers “extremely optimistic” over all five indicators, which includes regular income, quality of life, employment, economy and stock market.
His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, said: “Dubai’s role as a highly influential maritime hub has gone from strength to strength, with the 22nd edition of Dubai International Boat Show continuing to set the bar higher year-on-year. Undoubtedly the show has served as a cornerstone by bringing together the best the industry has to offer on a globally visible platform to drive the regional boating industry. We are extremely confident that the event’s, and indeed the industry’s, futures are extremely robust.”
Saeed Hareb, Vice President, Dubai International Marine Club and Senior Advisor, Dubai International Boat Show, said: “Dubai is set to become the world’s leisure maritime capital, thanks to modern marina facilities, strong maritime tourism infrastructure, and increasingly-knowledgeable boat-buying customers. Dubai cementing its status as a hub for mega-events is making a major impact on the leisure maritime market, with millions of visitors wanting to experience the UAE from the water.”
The enduring partnership between Dubai International Boat Show and Dubai International Marine Club has helped cement Dubai’s strategic position as a premier marina location in the region and the world. Over the years Dubai International Marine Club, one of the region’s leading maritime hubs, and Dubai International Boat Show have jointly grown in influence and stature in the regional and global marine industry.
According to research by ART Marine Marinas Division, the UAE currently has 30 marinas and 4,816 berths, and 64 marinas and 12,629 berths in the GCC overall, with the UAE accounting for 38% of the entire GCC marina berthing market.
Emphasising the UAE’s booming maritime market, the Dubai International Boat Show will host 16 UAE-based boat builders. UAE-based Gulf Craft, one of the world’s top 10 superyacht manufacturers, will bring eight boats to the show. Over the last two years, Gulf Craft reports that orders for small boats (9-13 metres long) have tripled while superyacht orders are also posting strong growth.
‘With the recent breaking ground of a number of remarkable infrastructure and waterfront real estate projects like the Dubai Canal, marine community lifestyle stays very much at the heart of the on-going Dubai developments,” said Erwin Bamps, COO, Gulf Craft. “It is the drive behind the recent upturn in demand for smaller leisure craft as well as mid-size fly-bridge yachts in the local market, with residents of the Emirate displaying a natural affinity for on-water living and entertainment.’
The “UAE Inspired” Pavilion will give a boost to small-to-medium-sized UAE-based boat builders: Al Rubban Marine, Al Shaali Group, Julfar Craft, Ocean Boats, and National Marine Alliance. The Ajman-based Al Shaali Group, one of the region’s prominent manufacturers of yachts and boats, will conduct a global boat launch and will bring a line of boats to the Dubai International Boat Show 2014.
"Dubai International Boat Show is the one and only gathering of all stakeholders in the region’s marine industry,” said Sultan A. Alshaali, CEO, Alshaali Group. “Whether you are a manufacturer, supplier, broker, or a yacht owner, you cannot miss out on this magnificent event, which  has been and will always be the main boat show in the Middle East and GCC, driving the marine industry to constantly develop products and services."
Middle East as Key International Maritime Market
Exhibitors, including the UAE-based ART MARINE, the Middle East's largest 360-degree leisure yachting enterprise, are looking forward to interacting with international clientele.
"The Dubai International Boat Show is always an important event for ART MARINE, and 2014 will be no different,” said Gregor Stinner, CEO, ART MARINE. “The show provides us with the perfect platform to promote our offering to the discerning Middle East customers, and indeed to the customers from all over the world that attend in vast numbers.”
Stinner continued: “Dubai is one of the major hubs for boating enthusiasts in the region, and the show is therefore a key event for us when it comes to reaching new clients and further expanding our business network. Every year sees more and more buyers enter the market, so it is vitally important for ART MARINE to be seen at one of the Middle East's most prestigious marine and leisure events."
Longstanding maritime markets such as the United States are positioning for greater growth in the Middle East, with American exhibitors leasing 35% more space compared to the 2013 edition. Key American exhibitor, Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development organisation for over 58,000 businesses, as part of its promotion of international trade will attend the show this year.
Show Features for the Whole Family
“We welcome all visitors aboard the Dubai International Boat Show 2014, from key buyers looking to purchase a superyacht, to casual maritime enthusiasts excited to see the world’s most impressive yachts, the latest diving technology, or the UAE’s rich maritime heritage,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President of Dubai World Trade Centre, the organiser of the exhibition. “As we post another year of growth in terms of boats, exhibitors, and launches, the Dubai International Boat Show 2014 is set to hoist anchor and become one of the world’s leading maritime exhibitions.”
Show sectors include The SYBAss Lounge (organised by the Superyacht Builders Association – SYBAss), Marina Display, Outdoor Display, Luxury Supplies and Services, Equipment Supplies and Services, Dive Middle East Exhibition, Supercar Promenade, and the Heritage Village sponsored by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. On 5 March, the Gulf Boating Conference will tackle the topic “Achieving Sustainable Growth in the GCC and Beyond.”
New this year are the On Water VIP Experience, a high-end on-board superyacht catering service for VIP guests, and the Dubai International Boat Show TV (DIBS TV), which features breaking show news, highlights and innovations daily from the exhibition floor and marina. Visitors can also participate in exciting Visit-and-Win promotions, including entering to win 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil semi-final and final ticekts.
Key returning partners include Italian luxury watch brand Officine Panerai as Supporting Partner, Mercedes-Benz as Official Car Partner, and ART MARINE as Marina Display Partner. Bombardier, the world’s only manufacturer of both planes and trains, is the exclusive sponsor of the LSS indoor pavilion.
As part of a Dubai Food Festival activation, Nobu Atlantis, The Palm, will be at Dubai International Boat Show 2014, which has long been associated with premium brands from yachting to fine dining. Launched by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), Dubai Food Festival features city-wide events, industry conferences and appearances from world-renowned chefs, plus a wide range food-related activities, tastings and events.

The 22nd Dubai International Boat Show is held at the Dubai International Marine Club - Mina Seyahi, from 4-8 March 2014. The event will be open to trade visitors and the general public from 3 pm – 9:30 pm daily.
