Over 500 participants
from 37 countries will commence competition today (Saturday 22nd
February) in the eagerly anticipated 6th Fazza International
Athletics IPC Grand Prix Competition that is being staged at the Al Thiqa Club
in Sharjah.
The event will last for four days and is
being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Organised by the Hamdan bin
Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) and the Dubai Club for the Disabled.
Athletes from around the world took part in
the official opening ceremony held at Creek Park on Friday 21st
February as organisers welcomed the different delegations with an exciting
series of cultural shows to showcase the heritage and tradition of the UAE. The
ceremonies were staged in the presence of a wide array of dignitaries, special
guests and competition judges and officials.
