Majid Al Futtaim introduces ‘My City Centre’, a new brand of neighbourhood retail concepts

Further diversifies the company’s retail portfolio with the inaugural location in Nasseriya, Sharjah, addressing the practical and daily needs of residents   


Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, has launched My City Centre, a new neighbourhood retail concept focused on offering a balanced mix of practical and lifestyle-oriented stores for residents in local communities. The inaugural centre, My City Centre, Nasseriya, Sharjah is an AED 84 million investment, and marks the first of Majid Al Futtaim’s dedicated brand of neighbourhood retail centres and the first brand to be launched under the company’s new corporate identity.

With the launch of our first location in Nasseriya, we are delighted to introduce the first My City Centre to the burgeoning Sharjah community.”
Visitors to My City Centre can expect a similar quality to that found at Majid Al Futtaim’s         City Centre shopping malls, but within an accessible and convenience-minded environment. My City Centre, Nasseriya features 21 stores across 5,540 square metres of retail space and is anchored by a Carrefour Market, which is complemented by a varied mix of amenities, services and lifestyle options from banking, casual dining, electronics, accessories and pharmacy.  
“My City Centre, Nasseriya addresses the immediate needs of residents by offering a tailored mix of practical and lifestyle-oriented shopping options, while also acting as a social hub for the local community,” said Ali Al Hashimi, Mall Manager for My City Centre, Nasseriya. “Nasseriya is a booming residential neighbourhood, for which My City Centre will cater to a variety of immediate, daily needs from grocery shopping to banking and dining.”  
My City Centre, Nasseriya features a number of lifestyle and electronics options for shoppers, including: luxury watch brand Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons; a Sun and Sand Sports athletic store; jewellers Lifestyle Jewellery and Pure Gold; electronics stores Axiom Telecom, Emax and Samsung; Butterfly Optics; Shoe Express; and perfumers Vanilla Perfumes and Al Rasasi Perfumes. In addition, the neighbourhood retail centre houses a Carrefour Market and five food & beverage outlets including Chili’s, Baskin Robbins, McDonalds, The Pizza Company, and Shakespeare & Co. and several services such as Al Manara Pharmacy, Sharaf Exchange, Emirates Islamic Bank and Emirates NBD, meeting the practicalities of daily life. 
Majid Al Futtaim plans to develop additional My City Centres across the UAE, with the aim to bring convenient shopping and lifestyle experiences to residential communities with several similar centres planned to open over the next five years. 

This announcement follows Majid Al Futtaim’s new brand strategy, which unifies the company’s diverse assets through a recognised visual identity. My City Centre is the first retail concept to launch under this new corporate identity and further builds upon Majid Al Futtaim’s ongoing expansion across UAE, including an AED 1 billion redevelopment at Mall of the Emirates, an AED 200 million expansion of Sharjah City Centre.
