Seeks to Add More Attractions for
Travellers in 2014
Less than a year since its launch
in May 2013, Emirates YOO (www.emiratesyoo.com), the first interactive online travel
resource by Kuoni Group,
has quadrupled its inventory offering and is now
looking to add flights and car rentals to its growing portfolio
in the coming months. In addition, the company is
developing a mobile / tablet app for customers to download and easily book /
manage their holidays that will be launched next month.
Giving details of its exceptional progress,
Girma Wossenseged,
Managing Director and the real architect behind the innovative tool said,
"Emirates YOO is an online booking website for the UAE and literally puts
the emirates at your fingertips. At the moment, we offer 244 hotels, tours and
activities, packaged holidays and airport to hotel transfers.
We expanded our inventory by tapping into different
distribution channels. Most importantly
it allows travellers to get inside scoop about local attractions, hotels, shops,
restaurants, last-minute deals and promotions from a team of gurus collectively
called 'Local Experts'. They enjoy sharing their experiences through their
blogs as they go around exploring and discovering those hidden treasures".
Being a true hotelier with over 25
years of experience, Girma specializes in e-commerce and has positioned many
branded and independent hotels. He said, “Internet’s impact on business has
been profound.Like everything else the changes in how people consume travel
services have been radical. Ultimately, it is all about growing travel trade
online”.
Between May and July 2013 Emirates
YOO saw an increase of
over 100% in hotel bookings. Girma stressed, "Since the launch, our daily
unique visitors have increased by 200%. The site's current top excursion is Burj
Khalifa. Extremely popular are also Dubai stopover packages."
Both online and social media
advertising have played an instrumental role in optimizing the site. Girma
said, "We have presence across major social media platforms such as Twitter,
Google Plus, Linkedin, Pintrest and Facebook. We utilise Google Adwords and
Facebook adwords on a daily basis. The fans of Emirates YOO compete by taking
Selfies of themselves against a landmark in Dubai and post on Pinterest and
Facebook. Equally significant are videos of testimonials, experiences and
destinations on Youtube, images of destinations on Pinterest, regular posts,
polls and competitions on monthly basis on Facebook (To be extended onto Google
+). In addition, the blog content is amplified using the posts on Facebook.
