Ras Al Khaimah is now officially home to the Middle East’s first-ever Go-Karting facility to be set up inside a mall. Go-K, a 10,000 square foot drift go-karting circuit, joins an impressive list of attractions to be hosted by RAK Mall, a premier retail and entertainment venture managed by Line Investments & Property LLC, a division of Lulu Group International.

Go-K consolidates RAK Mall’s stature as the leading entertainment, leisure and retail destination for the entire family in the Northern Emirates and will offer the region’s residents the opportunity to experience the thrill of drift go-kart racing and Italian hospitality in a completely safe and eco-friendly environment.

Go-K was officially inaugurated today by His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Ahmed Alteneiji, General Director of Department of Economic Development, Government of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of Mr. Steven Rice, CEO of RAK Tourism Development Authority, and top officials of the Lulu Group International and high-ranking officials of local hospitality and private companies. Go-K is established in RAK Mall and operated by Augusta Re Consulting FZ-LLC, an Italian engineering company.

The facility is a major attraction in RAK Mall, owned by the Lulu Group, which has been recognized recently by Deloitte as one of the world’s fastest growing retail brands over a five-year period. The UAE-based group was ranked 11th in a list of the biggest growing retail businesses published by Deloitte, which also listed the world’s 250 biggest names in the sector. Lulu Group is the only entry in the global 250 list, which was headed by US giant Wal-Mart.

Mr. Raja Abdul Khader, Director of Line Investments & Property LLC, described Go-K as an important achievement and innovative blend of entertainment, technology, and motor sports.

“RAK Mall features the 100^th Lulu Hypermarket and as it enters its third year, the Mall has evolved as the favorite leisure, shopping and entertainment destination for residents of Ras Al Khaimah and the neighboring emirates as well as tourists from GCC countries and from abroad,” he said. “By adding innovative rides such as Go-K, we are enriching the customer’s visit to RAK Mall.”

With the opening of the circuit, people from all of the surrounding Emirates can now enjoy this unique experience. Height requirement to use the rides is 1.25 metres and above. In addition, constant monitoring of the circuit by professional go-karting experts ensures the safety of the drivers at all times.

In addition, visitors to the facility can also savour a taste of Italian hospitality at the Go-K Café, which features a selection of some of the most exotic Italian coffees, cakes, snacks and savouries made from the finest ingredients. The café is also the meeting point for many families who can enjoy the hospitality while watching the races.
