FOR THE ‘MAKE IT WATCH-ABLE’ COMPETITION JUST DAYS AFTER ITS
DESIGN WORKSHOP @ SHELTER DUBAI
United Arab Emirates, Dubai: 1915 by
Seddiqi, the UAE’s go-to destination for fashion watches, announced its panel
of judges for its ‘Make it Watch-able Competition’ just after its dedicated
design workshop @Shelter Dubai took place. The ‘Make it Watch-able’ competition
sets out to engage creative minds in the UAE by giving them the task of
translating a radio script into a visual project through animation,
photography, illustration, painting, drawing/sketches, cinematography and/or
visual arts. The script is part of a fun radio campaign that was aired by
1915 earlier this year. With an eclectic mix of industry leaders and
inspirational figures, the jury is made up of UAE Nationals and Expat males and
females of different ages, with one main thing in common- their love and drive
for creativity.
A
compilation of influential personalities and pioneers of the creative
community, the jury was carefully hand-picked to provide a balanced, yet
diverse outlook on the competition and the work submitted by the contestants
The
jury members are already stars in their own right and have, in their own way,
contributed to the creative landscape of the UAE. Jury members are: Ahmed
& Rashid bin Shabib, Co-founders and Directors of Brownbook Magazine, Alan
Harvey, Creative Director at Cravens, Eileen Wallis, Managing Partner, The
Portsmouth Group, Mariam Al Sarkal, TV Director and aspiring Filmmaker, Muna
Mohammed Seddiqi Award-winning Designer and the creative force behind Ahmed
Seddiqi & Sons corporate material, Nawaf Al-Janahi, an Actor and a Film
Director and finally Qais Mohammed Sedki, the Author of Gold Ring, the first
Arabic manga illustrated by professional Japanese Artists.
Continuing
to put its Art-foot forward and keeping up with its promise to nurture creative
talent in the UAE, 1915 by Seddiqi just held a design workshop @Shelter Dubai,
which set out to develop practical skills for the aspiring creatives.
1915 took the opportunity to formally introduce the ‘Make it Watch-able’
Competition to an audience of art enthusiasts.
The
practical workshop helped those who attended strengthen their ability to create
compelling visual artwork. They also learned techniques to break out of
their usual patterns of thinking and create truly unique ideas. The
workshop was divided into two parts: Break
the mold: Strategies for visual ideation & Storyboard with purpose:
Delivering the right impact.
