Tashkeel and Pink Polo announce the Pink Polo Art Competition: Your Support Matters
Tashkeel, in collaboration with Pink Polo, a breast cancer awareness initiative, announces the ‘Pink Polo Art’ competition. Throughout October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tashkeel will be holding an open call for UAE-based artists to submit works specifically created to raise awareness of breast cancer. Selected artworks will be exhibited at Pink Polo, which will be held at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club on Saturday, 10 November. Artists submitting works will also qualify to win prizes, including workshops at Tashkeel, VIP tickets to Pink Polo, and more.
Presented by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Pink Polo is the conclusion of Health Authority Abu Dhabi’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and uses competitive sport to promote a life-saving message. Tashkeel is working along side Pink Polo this year to promote the cause using visual arts.
"According to the UAE Ministry of Health, cancer is the 2nd highest cause of death amongst women, and breast cancer is the most common form of this disease. Through collaborating with Pink Polo, Tashkeel hopes that it can contribute to the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign by reaching out to as many people as possible. Artists have the ability to visually transmit a message, and Pink Polo Art is an innovative way of getting artists more involved by creating new works in support of the cause and raising awareness. The more artists get involved, the greater the means of communicating this issue. Tashkeel is proud to be associated with Pink Polo and the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign." –Lateefa bint Maktoum, Tashkeel Director.
