@LCFLondon The Latest News from the Esteemed London College of Fashion for 2014


This New Year, discover new talents and unleash your inner entrepreneur with London College of Fashion short courses, Dubai.
London College of Fashion (LCF), the world’s leading providers of specialist fashion short courses and celebrated fashion institution will be returning to Dubai between 2nd – 15th February to present their biggest line up of courses yet, hosted at the super stylish VIDA hotel in Downtown Dubai, near the iconic Burj Khalifa.
Due to the popular demand in the region LCF will be conducting the largest portfolio of courses ever to be on offer at one time.  High profile tutors and industry experts will host a total of 13 courses, including the brand new Visual Merchandising 2.  LCF’s programme sets the precedent in the teaching of fashion education in the Middle East.
Industry specialist Sharon Hughes will be for the first time teaching ‘Fashion and Marketing’. Sharon has over 15 years' experience working with American retail giant Macys as well as fashion and retail brands Lori's shoes, Jeffrey Campbell and Blondie Vintage in London.
A course set to be largely popular is ‘Social and digital media for fashion’ due to the vast expansion of digital media in the Middle East.  This course provides a deeper understanding of using social media channels such as Facebook and Pinterest and how it can aid in building a fashion business or brand.
Following his hugely successful appearance at Fashion Forward 2, renowned lecturer and high profile fashion journalist Paul Tierney will be returning to present Fashion Communication. A successful freelance journalist with over 25 years experience and a tutor at London College of Fashion teaching in both London and Dubai, Paul is regularly commissioned by the world’s leading newspapers and magazines, including Love, Pop, Another Man, The Independent and The London Evening Standard. He is the Editor at Large of bi-annual style magazine, Ponystep, and currently writes for Grazia Middle East, as well as many other publications.         
LCF continually aims to support the development of the fashion industry in the Middle East and in collaboration with world recognized Lebanese fashion designer Ellie Saab, together have launched a fashion design degree at the Lebanese American University.  With a vision of excellence from LCF, Elie Saab and LAU have created a programme tailored to the  Arab culture and adapted to meet the international standards. The BA Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design programme will provide excellent opportunities for thousands of talented and ambitious individuals across the Middle East.
LCF has been delivering excellent knowledge for over a century; developing talents, many of which have gone on to become hugely successful in the global fashion industry. Suneet Varma, Indian designer and a graduate of LCF in Costume History recently won the Ahlan Masala! Award for International Fashion Designer of the Year, a coveted prize for A-listers across the world.
