The Coral Beach Resort – Sharjah extended whole-hearted
support to the 7 Emirates Run, a 575-kilometre ultra-marathon led by veteran
runner Mr Wendelin Lauxen, by hosting the multi-national team at the resort in
the last leg of their 12-day run.

Mr Jean Pierre Simon, Regional General Manager, Northern
Emirates, Coral Hotels & Resorts, welcomed the team at the hotel. The
Resort extended its warm hospitality to the 12-member team till they embarked
on their last step of 42-kilometer run from Coral Beach Resort – Sharjah to
Burj Khalifa at Downtown Dubai on Dec.2.

Mr Lauxen, a 52-year-old German, founded the 7 Emirates Run
in 2010 and finished the 575km run in 12 days. This year he shared the run with
others for a good cause. The team also included Aida Othman (New Zealand),
Clemens Kastner (Germany), Deirdre O`Leary (Canada), Doris Matlok(Australia),
Ekhman Mahmud (Malaysia) and Servee Palmans (The Netherlands).
Mr Simon added, “It was a fantastic opportunity for us to be involved
in this ultra-marathon, which not only paid tribute to the unity of the seven
emirates, but also raised awareness to support the less fortunate of the
society.”
