biz-group,
the Middle East’s leading business strategy, teambuilding and corporate
training company, yesterday celebrated its 20th anniversary on a
high note with the launch of Orchestrate, an innovative teambuilding product
that challenges teams to perform as a symphony orchestra.
The
concept, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East and exclusive to
biz-group, reinforces the company’s pioneering approach to impacting
performance, a formula to which biz-group attributes its position as one of the
UAE’s leading SMEs.
As
the name suggests, Orchestrate requires participants to learn to play a musical
instrument, be it a drum, trumpet or cello and perform as part of a symphony
orchestra led by Paris-based conductor Stefano Catalano. The concept, which has
been rolled out in the UK and South Africa, has been praised for its unique
approach to engendering teamwork and communication among employees.
“At
biz-group we believe anything is possible and constantly challenge ourselves
and our clients to achieve the inconceivable. We chose to launch Orchestrate as
part of our 20th anniversary celebrations as it really encapsulates
our work ethos, ‘passionate about performance’, while providing our guests with
an inspiring, engaging and hopefully memorable activity,” said Hazel Jackson,
Founder & CEO of biz-group.
Founded
in Dubai in 1993, biz-group has not only developed into one of the region’s
foremost training and development companies, but also into one of the UAE’s top
SMEs. It was recently awarded the ‘Best SME to Work for in the UAE’ by Great
Place to Work and placed on the Dubai SME 100 lists in 2011 and 2013, ranking
16th and ninth respectively.
Jackson
says a major factor in biz-group’s business success has been the partnerships
it has forged with leading institutions and business gurus to ensure its
programmes and services are delivered to international standards with local
relevance.
Orchestrate
is now the 121st teambuilding product biz-group has launched. Many of these,
including Orchestrate, have been introduced through international teambuilding
company Catalyst Global, for whom biz-group is the exclusive local partner.
Other internationally-acclaimed programmes for which biz-group is the exclusive
Middle East representative include: Multipliers by Liz Wiseman; ExperienceChange
and Design Thinker from ExperiencePoint and the Gazelles One Page Plan from
Verne Harnish.
Throughout
its 20-year history, biz-group’s training programmes have played an important
role in the growth stories of some of the region’s most successful businesses,
including: National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah Group, THE One, Al Tayer,
Gasco, Majid Al Futtaim and Emirates Airlines.
biz-group’s
innate understanding of the key issues affecting businesses has created an
environment of exceptional business performance and workplace excellence among
its clients. For example, THE One has been recognised as a Top Company to Work
for in the UAE by the Great Place to Work for three consecutive years; The
Links Group has been listed as a Dubai SME 100 and an Arabia 500 company; while
Abu Dhabi Airport Services received industry awards following customer service
training and on-the-job coaching.
“We
are immensely proud of what we have achieved over the last 20 years. From an
initial investment of just $700 dollars, we now operate across the Middle East
and have achieved 20 percent year-on-year growth over the last five years.
Although one of our founding wishes was to create something valuable, we never
imagined the true impact that biz-group would have in developing best practice
and fostering strong workplace cultures in the region. We now look forward to
seeing what the next 20 years hold!” said Jackson.
