International Riders Jump To It In 2014 Dubai Showjumping Championship
Dh750,000 & World Cup Qualification Points Up For Grabs In Family Event
The three-day Dubai Showjumping Championship gets underway on January 30 and offers spectators the chance to see the region’s best riders compete for points that could help win them a spot in the 2014 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Finals in France.
The show, which features Olympic calibre rider and horse combinations including members of the Saudi Arabian bronze-medal-winning team, also showcases the internationally-successful Dubai Showjumping Team and UAE Olympian, Sheikha Latifa Bint Ahmed Bin Juma Al Maktoum.
Held at Emirates Equestrian Centre, the renowned CSI3*-W show is part of the prominent Arab League and is supported by Official Airline, Emirates, Official Timekeeper, Longines and Official Newspaper, Gulf News.
The three days of competition are highlighted by the Dh150,000 Gulf News Dubai Cup, a qualifier for the Dubai Grand Prix, the adrenaline-charged Dh65,000 Longines Speed Stakes and the Dh100,000 Longines Accumulator which all build up to the final-day Dh245,000 Emirates Airline Dubai Grand Prix when successful riders can win highly-prized Longines FEI World Cup Jumping qualification points.
With top show jumpers such as Dubai Equestrian Club’s Longines FEI World Cup and Asian Games rider, Abdullah Al Marri, and fellow team members, Arif Ahmed, Omar Khoory, Mohammed Ketait and Ahmed Falaknaz riding into the ring alongside 2010 World Equestrian Games silver medal winner and 2012 Olympic Team Bronze Medialist, Abdullah Al Sharbatli from Saudi Arabia, spectators are guaranteed the best show jumping action the region has to offer.

Entrance is free and there will be entertainment for the entire family including pony rides, bouncy castles, children’s play area, face painting and drill rides by Dubai Pony Club and as well as dressage displays. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Gates open at 11:30am on Thursday January 30. On Friday February 1 the gates open at 1pm and at 11am on Saturday February 2.
