Fazza Championship for Shooting – Schuetzen Rifle category to commence on 28 January 2014
200 shooters to compete in live contest for three days
The Fazza Championship for Shooting Schuetzen Rifle category is set to commence on 28 January 2014 at the Nad Al-Sheba shooting grounds between 8.30 am and 4pm. The Championship is being organised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center and has already witnessed 200 registrations, the highest since the inception of the Championship,  four years ago, compared to 120 participants last year.

Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Hasher Al Maktoum, Olympic shooter and the head of the organising committee of the Fazza Championship for Shooting says: “The growth in the Championship is thanks to the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center’s rigorous and dedicated efforts to enhance the quality of the competition every successive year.”

 “The unique feature of the competition is that each participant will be provided with  150 bullets that he can use over the course of three days. It is the largest number  of bullets used in the history of the Championship.

“We thank His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for supporting and encouraging the sport practiced by our forefathers.”

Meanwhile Souad Darwish, Director of the Fazza Championships added: “The Shooting Championships have witnessed a fantastic response and are attracting shooters from across the GCC. We realize the importance of reviving traditional Arabian sports and strive to execute the directions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to enhance our national identity.”


The Championships will see 92 shooters from Kuwait compete alongside other participants from the UAE and the rest of the GCC as well as 15 women shooters.
