Centre's Dub Fest - international street theatre and comedy fair
Internationally acclaimed
acrobats from around the world, some of whom have toured with Cirque du Soleil,
will be taking to the streets of Deira to perform death-defying and
entertaining acts in front of an expectant crowd of thousands of visitors.
From the 20th to the 29th of
March, 30 international acts from over 12 different countries will be
performing in and around the Al Ghurair Centre as part of the Al Ghurair
Centre’s Dub Fest international street theatre and comedy fair.
Reuben Dot Dot Dot,
originally from Melbourne, Australia has previously appeared in Cirque du
Soleil and performed at some of the biggest festivals around the world. He will
be showcasing his talents at the Middle East’s largest street theatre event,
the Al Ghurair Centre’s Dub Fest, to perform his gravity and death defying
acrobatic spectacle. 20 feet up in the air, visitors will need to see it to
believe it!
The phenomenal USA Break
Dancers, created by ex-Cirque du Soleil performer Julio Santiago, are a break
dancing trio originally from New York. The USA Break Dancers have travelled
across the globe, performing their incredible routines at numerous high profile
festivals, concerts and in music videos and are thrilled to be performing in
Dubai. They will present some of their most exhilarating break dancing routines
throughout the 10 day Dub Fest event. Audiences will also be given the chance
to hone their dancing skills by getting involved in the routines.
The Al Ghurair Centre’s Dub
Fest offers residents and visitors to Dubai the chance to see some of the
world’s most daring and exciting street theatre performers and performances for
free. Visitors will be encouraged to take part in the
shows, providing family-friendly, interactive entertainment.
Spectators can catch the USA
Break Dancers and many more incredible street theatre artists daily on the
inner street of the Al Ghurair Centre, Rigga Road, Deira, between the 20th and
29th March, 4-11pm weekdays and 2pm at weekends. Nearest Metro: Union Square
Metro Station.
