Creek Clean-up with Dubai Golf and Park Hyatt Dubai
Environmental Initiative Part of Preparations for 2013 Dubai
Pre-Owned Boat Show
Following a successful community
clean-up campaign earlier this year, which saw Dubai Golf teaming up with Park
Hyatt Dubai to gather rubbish from the banks of the historic Dubai Creek, the
two companies have participated in another joint clean-up campaign.
The event was part
of the preparations for the Dubai Pre-owned Boat Show 2013 which takes place
from 21st – 23rd November, during the clean up 149
volunteers collected over 100 bags of rubbish from the banks of the Creek.
Mustafa Al
Hashimi, General Manager of Dubai Golf, said: “Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht
Club is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year and as a Dubai
institution, we have a duty to the environment of the Emirate. We are delighted
to have once again teamed up with Park Hyatt Dubai on another successful
clean-up campaign. “
Adrian Slater,
General Manager of Park Hyatt Dubai added, “It was fantastic to see so many
volunteers from the hotel and golf club participating in this mornings clean
up, hopefully our actions will help to raise awareness of the amount of litter that
exists in Dubai and encourage residents to not damage the environment by
throwing away trash unnecessarily.”
Dubai will be
celebrating 20 years of participating in the Clean Up the World Campaign with
the theme “Our Place… Our Planet… Our Responsibility” under the parent organization
“Clean up the World Australia” and supported by the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP).
