Guests celebrated the launch at Al Hamra Mall, Ras Al Khaimah with a special screening of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Celebrations were marked with an official cake cutting by His Highness Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Kayed Al Qasimi, special advisor of RAK Ruler, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
VOX Cinemas opened its first location in Ras Al Khaimah recently and in suitable luxurious fashion, last night hosted an exclusive reception followed by a special screening of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, to celebrate. The new eight-screen complex is within the recently expanded Al Hamra Mall, and guests including government officials, VIPs, and mall executives enjoyed a private reception themed around the movie before enjoying the highly-anticipated blockbuster film on the largest 17 metre wide screen in the Emirate, VOX MAX.
The new cinema houses eight fully digital screens, of which 4 are 3D-enabled, along with VOX Cinemas’ premium movie-going concept, VOX GOLD, which offers audiences large reclining seats, a restaurant-style menu with an extensive hot food selection served directly to your seat, all within an intimate cinema environment. VOX Cinemas, Al Hamra Mall will also show more movie sessions per week than any other cinema in the Emirate, ensuring cinema-goers in the area receive the best possible movie experience.
“The Al Hamra Mall location has been incredibly successful in the short time it has been open,” said Cameron Mitchell, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas. “Attendance is up 20% on what was forecast, with a fantastic number of residents and visitors to RAK choosing VOX Cinemas due to the greater number of movie sessions, premium seating options in VOX GOLD, and the fact that the cinema houses the largest screen in the Emirate, VOX MAX.”
Al Hamra Mall is the first VOX Cinemas in Ras Al Khaimah and the latest in a significant expansion plan which has this year alone seen three new locations open throughout the UAE and Levant region, at Fujairah City Centre, Mercato Mall and Beirut City Centre.
