Festivities to include exclusive concerts and
wide variety of traditional activities, including Emirati folk bands, Al Meydan
Yola Competition and the Unique Lock Love for UAE initiative
Global Village, Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural destination,
is proud to announce that it has organized a 11-day National Day celebrations
featuring exclusive shows and other exciting activities from the 27th
November to the 7th December. The events have been prepared as a celebration of
the United Arab Emirates 42nd year of unity to mark over four decades of growth
and achievement.
For The Love of The UAE And Its Heritage
Global
Village will be hoisting the UAE flag on its own Union Pole at Gate 1, and in
addition, a replica Union House will be opened and run by students from Zayed
University. The Union House will showcase the development of the UAE over its
42 years through images and videos.
In
an exciting and innovative new activity visitors to Global Village will be able
to show their love for the UAE by competing in the ‘Lock Love For UAE’
competition. UAE residents will be able to attach a padlock to the ‘I Heart
UAE’ structure that is being constructed next to the Union Flag.
On
the 7th December, the first five visitors to unlock their padlock
can win 1000 AED cash prize.
Global
Village will be bringing Shaabiat Al Cartoon to life for all the family to
enjoy this entertaining and educational show created in the UAE.
Traditional
Emirati bands will take to stages around the park, including the Culture Stage,
to perform for visitors and allow them to experience the centuries-old musical
heritage of the UAE.
The
Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre will also be providing a wealth of cultural
and national entertainment for UAE residents and tourists. Every day of the
National Day celebrations will feature performances from traditional Ayollah
and Liwa style dancers.
UAE Military Might and Arab Musical Culture
The
UAE’s armed forces are also proudly taking part and will undertake a number of
parades around the park. Visitors to Global Village will also be able to visit
the army pavilion so that they can take pictures alongside tanks, helicopters,
boats, and armored vehicles.
Arabic
music and culture will be at the forefront during this festival period and Global
Village is bringing a wide variety of Arabic singers to perform for visitors
who include Faisal Al Jassim; Aryam; Mohammed Mazrui; Jassim Mohammed, and
Habib Yasi, who will all be performing on the 1st December. Diana Haddad,
Saeed Salem, Mansour Zayed, and Balkis Ahmed, will be taking to the stage on
the 2nd December.
International Flavours in Music, Dance and
Street Art
International
entertainment will be provided by the amazing street dancing abilities of USA Break
