Rugby legends in town for the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens this weekend gathered at The Track for a special golf competition to raise money for charity.
Meydan Golf teamed up with Driving Force, a local creative design company, to put on the special event ahead of this weekend's rugby bonanza. It featured a glittering array of rugby stars including Carlos Spencer, Casper Steyn and the world's greatest sevens player Waisale Serevi.
The team is inspired by Springbok's legend Joost van der Westhuisen and is named after the J9 Foundation, a charity which raises money to fund research into motor neurone disease (MND) founded by Westhuisen after he was diagnosed with MND in 2011.
“It was super amazing to be able to have our World Legends golf day at the track, it’s a great golf course that has supported the J9 Foundation brilliantly in the past with our J9 SOX golf day," said van der Westhuisen. "I was so so glad to bring all my international rugby friends to enjoy a round of golf with me there. It was an awesome day!”
