the list goes on! During his stay he will also be giving a talk as a part of

About Mohammed Al Turki
Film
producer, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Mohammed Al Turki was born in Saudi
Arabia on 3rd July 1986. He has successfully bridged the gap between the East
and West through his considerable presence in Hollywood. His lifelong passion
for film, coupled with his academic achievements in media studies during his
education in London, drove Mohammed's determination to break the US movie
industry as a producer.
Mohammed has
produced 9 movies till date, which include the well known ‘What Maisie Knew’,
‘Arbitrage’, ‘Adult World’, and ‘Desert Dancer.’
Moved
by Steven Speilberg’s ‘Schindler’s List’, Mohammed was inspired to create work
of the same stature and “make a name for himself.” Role models such as Fellini
and Hitchcock, and their respective films ‘La Dolce Vita’ and ‘Strangers On A
Train’ lay the foundations for Mohammed’s passion for making movies. Anthony
Minghella and Pedro Almodovar were also greatly admired by Mohammed. This
passion for producing movies materialised when he was approached by a director
friend Zeina Durra to produce her script for ‘The Imperalists Are Still Alive.’
The movie was launched at Sundance in 2010 and the immense success of the movie
was the launchpad for Mohammed Al Turki as a producer. Shortly after Mohammed
executive produced the $22 milion box office grossing ‘Arbitrage’, starring
Richard Gere. The movie then went on to gross another $11 million.
Al
Turki follows up the success of these movies with a collaboration with Turen’s
Treehouse Pictures, producing Ramin Bahrani’s Zac Efron starrer ‘At Any Price’
which was released April 2012 by Sony Classics in the United States (Roger
Ebert called the film ‘A Milestone’), and also ‘Adult World’ starring Emma
Roberts and John Cusack.
Mohammed
is a dedicated supporter of a number of international charities including those
started and managed by his father Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Turki, in his home
country of Saudi Arabia which include the Saudi Cancer Foundation, the Saudi
Charitable Foundation for Promoting Organ Donation and The Saudi Annual Charity
run to name a few. Mohammed actively supports the Elton John AIDS Foundation,
AmfAR and Cinema for Peace with J/P Haiti Relief Organization with Sean Penn,
which recently raised $5 million in two hours.
Al
Turki will also soon be launching his film fund RAV Raw Artist Vision with
Producing Partner Arcadiy Golubovich who produced Oscar winner Paul Haggis's
new film ‘Third Person’ starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, Adrian Brody, Kim
Basinger and Olivia Wilde. Together, they aim to produce up to 5 movies a year
for the next 5 years.
