With television coverage in no less than 102 countries around the world, and a peloton of many of the world's finest cyclists, the first Dubai Tour is building up for the start tomorrow. The official start list is now available. The presence of so many of the world's finest riders already make this first edition an event to remember, even before the racing gets underway.
TELEVISION
The first Dubai Tour will be shown in 102 territories worldwide via the following broadcasters, who will be providing live coverage, race highlights and news reports: Dubai Sports Channel, the host broadcaster, will also provide live race coverage in the UAE, and the Middle East more generally, on Channel 1 and Channel HD with analysis and supplementary programming.
In addition, the race will also be shown on the following platforms: Eurosport International and Eurosport Asia Pacific; Rai Sport 2 in Italy; Universal Sports Network in the US; J Sport in Japan; FOX Australia (highlights); HySports Channel in China (highlights); and Sony TV in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan (highlights).
RIDERS
Notable entrants include: reigning World Champion Alberto Rui Costa, reigning Giro d'Italia champion Vincenzo Nibali, the extraordinary, multi-talented Peter Sagan, three-time and reigning World TIme Trial Champion Tony Martin, four-time World TIme Trial Champion Fabian Cancellara, current World No. 1 José Joaquin RodrÃguez, the sprinters Mark Cavendish and Marcel Kittel, and serial Grand Tour contender, Alejandro Valverde.
The United Arab Emirates national team, and the Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team, also compete, ensuring that the Dubai Tour will also contribute to the development of cycling in the region. Please find attached the Official Start List.
