PARK REGIS KRIS KIN HOTEL, DUBAI
AIMS TO REINFORCE GLOBAL CREDENTIALS AT ITB, THE
WORLD’S LARGEST TRAVEL TRADE SHOW
Heading for
Berlin to participate with the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce
Marketing at the ITB Berlin travel exhibition, management from the Park Regis
Kris Kin Hotel Dubai said the event would provide a platform to promote its
facilities in the run-up to the Expo 2020.
According to
General Manager, Scott Butcher, the entire hospitality sector in the Emirate
was now taking the long view with a view to building Dubai Inc to cater for
increased visitor figures: “We are all working to meet the 20 million visitor
target set for the year 2020, and a global show such as ITB enables us to meet
with the major players in the tourism industry to set out our brand of hotels
for future growth."
“It is a hugely
exciting time to be involved with Dubai Tourism, and despite the fact that
hotel numbers are set to double to cater to expected visitor numbers, this competition
will be beneficial both for guests and for the hotels themselves which will
have to be at the top of their game to win business, whether it is tourism,
corporate, meetings or incentives.”
Recent figures
from Dubai Civil Aviation revealed that passenger traffic in 2013 was up more
than 15 per cent compared to the previous year, setting the scene for continued
growth following the opening of Al Maktoum International Airport to passenger
flights.
Added Mr.
Butcher, “With Emirates and Fly Dubai set on a trajectory of growth, Dubai can
now offer both access and accommodation options, and these factors are of
enormous interest to the global travel trade."
While India
remained the largest source market for passenger traffic, the UK was at number
two and Eastern Europe recorded the highest percentage growth, up more than 57
per cent.
Meanwhile,
global growth related to its parent company StayWell Hospitality Group will be
another focus for the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai's team at ITB, said Mr.
Butcher.
StayWell Hospitality Group recently added five new hotels
to their network in New Zealand, having Park Regis and Leisure Inn properties
in Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Rotorua and Picton and getting more closer to
reach the objective of having 100 hotels in their network by 2016 – already
they have secured eight hotels in India, a new resort in Bali and will open
their first UK property in Birmingham this year, and have further deals under
negotiation in India, China and Australia.
