Luxury Heritage Resort ‘The Ajman Palace’ All Set for ITB to Support the Emirate’s Tourism Push
The sales team from The Ajman Palace, a luxury
heritage resort with a modern spirit, will be joining the
Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) at the ITB Berlin in March, aiming
to build awareness about the hotel and the emirate in European markets and
promote its cultural and beach attractions.
Taking place between March 5 and 9, the world’s
largest travel trade show hosts delegations from more than 180 countries and is
visited by in excess of 170,000 visitors annually – offering an ideal showcase
for new and existing hotels in Ajman to woo summer trade and build tour
operator contacts for the coming winter season.
According to Laurent A.
Voivenel, CEO of HMH – Hospitality
Management Holdings, that manages The Ajman Palace, despite the early stages of
operation, the hotel is already beginning to gain a solid reputation for
quality and value among European clients.
“Being the
first hotel in Ajman classified as five-star by the Ajman Tourism Development
Department, The Ajman Palace is a flagship that defines the emirate’s push to
win recognition as a ‘new’ destination in the Arabian Gulf,” he said.
“With
several new luxury hotel names opening up soon,
there is no doubt that the destination has the assets to be flagged up as a
viable alternative for those looking for sunshine and a taste of exotica, and
we are delighted to help the ATDD in its efforts to market Ajman to the
discerning trade audience at ITB Berlin.”
According
to the latest figures from the Ajman Department of Economic Development, there
are more than 30 hotels and hotel apartments in the emirate which hosted around
600,000 guests in 2012.
Among the
prime source markets are Russia and the CIS States which accounted for 38 per
cent of the total, followed by Europe (22 per cent), Asia (13 per cent) and the
GCC (11 per cent).
A beachfront
Arabesque-style resort set in the heart of the emirate, The Ajman Palace has
254 rooms, suites and serviced residences including 139 Deluxe rooms and 54
Lifestyle Club rooms on the sixth and seventh floors.
Facilities
include the Encore Lifestyle Club with nine luxurious treatment rooms, fitness
centre and an outdoor Jacuzzi and pool plus a range of restaurants offering
international cuisine, gourmet Arabian dining and Japanese/Thai fusion as well
as ‘Nojoom Lounge’ – a scenic
rooftop shisha lounge.
For
meetings and events, the hotel has the largest ballroom in Ajman
and the Northern Emirates that is divisible in to three and can
accommodate up to 1200 guests cocktail style or 850 seated dinner, plus a 360-capacity Conference Hall, four
meeting rooms and a VIP function room, as well as an extensive outdoor rooftop
terrace.
