– Jebel Ali International Hospital celebrates the winner of its annual
School
Painting Competition 2013
CEDARS Jebel Ali International Hospital,
the full-fledged multi-specialty hospital located in Jebel Ali, announced today,
the winner of its annual school painting competition, which was launched last
month to all UAE schools and students between the ages of six to ten years old.
Sravya Nagalakunta from Rajagiri International School won
the first prize out of 15 finalists, winning an iPad mini and weekend stay with
her family offered both from CEDARS and Jebel Ali Golf Reset and Spa. Her
creative and colorful painting fit into the “ Dubai and the UAE ” theme, depicting
elegantly the old and the new of the United Arab Emirate’s iconic buildings, colors
and its national people.
Sravya who is 9 years old said: “ I have been living in
the Dubai UAE since I was born here and Dubai for me is my home. When I think
of Dubai I see so much happening. I also like to go to the desert and see the
camels and eagles.”
In
celebration of India International day, the hospital hosted the participating schools,
students,
teachers
and parents. It was an event full of smiles and anticipation teaching children
the thrill of
winning
and most important, recognition for their artistic capabilities.
The aim of the CEDARS Hospital management is to help
foster an environment to discover and promote creative inclinations of children
in the UAE with three themes of 2013 to choose from: “Family and Friends”,
“Nature and Animals” and “Dubai and the UAE”.
Anne-Susann Becker, Executive Board Member at CEDARS –
Jebel Ali International Hospital: “Judging by this year’s participation levels
and the quality of the paintings, we are thrilled with the interest and the
effort the students have put in into these beautiful masterpieces”. She added: “We
also want to thank all the teachers who helped organize and encouraged their
students to take part. Our sponsors, Babyshop, Dubai Dolphinarium, JA Jebel Ali
Golf Resort, Kidzania, Yaya Vitamins, Kids.Blog!, Proserve and Big Bus Tours, are
as equally as important and without them this event could not be possible”.
Mr. Majid Roummah of Roummah Calligraphy who acted as
one of the judges commented: “ This initiave is very important and we owe it to
our community to encourage young students to uncover their creative skills and
engage with other students to share their stories through drawing and paintings”.
All the winning entries will be displayed at a permanent
art exhibition at the hospital.
