Manchester City star player Fernandinho will meet thousands of fans and sign autographs in Abu Dhabi this Saturday.
The Brazilian midfielder, who cost the club 30 million pounds (UK sterling) this summer, will be at the official CityStore in Marina Mall from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Fernandinho is a critical part of manager Manuel Pellegrini’s new look side and plays the holding role in the centre of the pitch.
He is flying in to Abu Dhabi to meet fans and also to visit the Manchester City FC School of Football, which is located at Zayed Sports City.
Alongside him for the trip is veteran goalkeeper Richard Wright – who has played in the English Premier League for years and was once a big money signing for Arsenal.
Fernandinho has made a great start to his career at Manchester City.
After signing him the manager, Pellegrini, said: “I made Fernandinho one of the top priorities; he has impressed me on a number of occasions over the past few years and is a player I’ve taken a keen interest in."
Last season Manchester City brought in Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia to meet fans and his appearance saw fans queuing in Marina Mall for the chance to meet the player and get a picture and an autograph.
City currently has more than 500 young players being coached at the School of Football and thousands of fans are signed up to the official Sky Blue membership scheme in the UAE.
