ADM invests in a new
commercial operating model
Abu Dhabi,
January 16, 2014 – Saif Saeed Ghobash, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu
Dhabi Media (ADM), announced today assigning Abdulwahed Juma Almuwalekh as
Chief Commercial Officer of ADM.
Almuwalekh
has served as Deputy Chief Commercial Officer since January 2013. He directly
managed the various sales teams of ADM, spearheaded Emaratization efforts
within the sales field, and contributed to the development of the new
commercial operating model. He
substitutes Raja Halabi, who served as Chief Commercial Officer of ADM since 2008
and as Executive Commercial Director of Emirates Media Inc. since 1997.
The move
comes at the same time ADM implements its new commercial operating model, as a
result of extensive research and studies, which indicate the need to shift
towards a client-centric model.
Ghobash
said: “Such a shift in the Commercial Division’s operating model will help ADM
better understand its clients’ needs, excel in multi-platform selling and align
to constantly changing dynamics in the marketplace. Abdulwahed’s unique background
will help him champion the successful implementation of the new model. We thank
Raja for his monumental role in building the Commercial Division and driving its
continuous success.”
Almuwalekh
is a seasoned sales professional with a wealth of experience and knowledge
within the marketplace. Prior to joining ADM, Almuwalekh was the Senior Vice
President of Communications and Marketing at First Gulf Bank, where he played
an active role in developing the company’s corporate brand and managing its public
relations. Earlier in his career, Almuwalekh held the position of Chief
Commercial Officer of Publishing at Dubai Media Incorporated. Almuwalekh holds
an MBA from The American University in Dubai.
