@Toyota_UAE Toyota Emirates Drifting Team stays top of the Drift UAE Championship, following a breath-taking performance

Ahmed Al Ameri, Toyota Emirates Drifting Team driver, secured second position at the re-scheduled Round 1 of Drift UAE, in a stunning drifting performance which took place at Emirates Motorplex Race Track, Um Al Quwain on 31st January 2014..
Initially delayed due to unstable weather, Round 1 which was supposed to take place on November 22nd 2013 hosted 8 competing teams in the Pro Category.
Following this latest round of action Al Ameri currently holds the top position within the Drift UAE Championship with the points that he has accumulated from his performances in Round 1 & 2.
Commenting on the race Al Ameri said: “The competition was very tough between the drivers today which made the race a lot more fun for the attending fans. Emirates Motorplex is a difficult place to compete at due to its slippery flooring and tight spaces.”
Al Ameri added: "The top position that I currently hold in this year’s Drift UAE Championship wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support of Al-Futtaim Motors. I am very fortunate to represent Toyota, the world’s best-selling automotive brand and the first and only automotive brand to support a local drifting team in the UAE.”

He continued: “I also have to extend a special thanks to my competitor in the final round, Fredrik Aasland from Norway. His sheer class and display of sportsmanship, when he allowed me to use his five-minute rule to re-fill my car with the necessary oil so I could compete against him in the final round, should serve as an inspiration to all aspiring drivers and competitors."
Toyota EDT is also supported by Maxxis Tyres which provides Toyota EDT with Maxxis Z1 Drift professional tyres, Extreme Performance and Emirates Motorsports Technologies which offer the team full technical support and supervision.

Toyota EDT will be participating in Drift UAE Round 3 taking place on Friday 21st of February at the Dubai Autodrome.
