Classic stories brought to life at KidsFest Abu Dhabi @EventsGEM

Pinocchio, Alice and the Mad Hatter and A Little Bit of Red to light up the stage

Pinocchio, one of the most magical stories of all time, will be brought to life as part of a grand new festival for families in Abu Dhabi.
KidsFest will transform Zayed Sports City into a lively activity hub from October 15-19 and will offer something for everyone during the holiday break.
In addition to an exciting adaption of Pinocchio, youngsters will marvel at the antics of Alice and the Mad Hatter and be spellbound by A Little Bit of Red – the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
Other attractions now confirmed include Healthpoint’s 30 metre long Challenger Obstacle Course which is suitable for children and adults. This area also features daily prize competitions and experts giving tips on how to stay fit and healthy. Additionally, fitness experts at Haddins will run a search to find “Abu Dhabi’s Fittest Kid”. In this event, boys and girls will attempt the title by performing age-appropriate challenges ranging from egg and spoon races to tyre flips.
KidsFest Talent will put the spotlight on local performers vying for great prizes on 18 and 19 October. Auditions are still being accepted through the event website and Facebook pages. Throughout the entire day the main stage will be filled with entertainment, fitness classes, music demonstrations and dance-offs.
On top of all that is a vast array of attractions – from a towering zip line to a gigantic inflatable park, face painting, bracelet making, a petting zoo, sports activities, carnival rides, amusement games and more throughout all five days. Street performers will walk the show, posing for photos with adoring fans.
This event will have a real community feel and has been organised during the same week as Eid Al Adha. This provides parents with a dynamic destination to have a fun time with friends, relatives and classmates during the holiday, with some families sure to make several trips over the duration
Zayed Sports City General Manager, Barry Bremner, said: “We are combining fun, fitness and healthy living at KidsFest to bring the community yet another fantastic event.”
Global Event Management owner James Magee added: “The cast putting on Pinocchio and the other performances are truly fantastic and will deliver shows bursting with colour and energy.
“Everyone from young children to parents will love what they see. In addition we have a packed schedule for all five days that will keep families coming back for more.
“The countdown is now on to the first ever KidsFest Abu Dhabi and we know people are going to have some serious fun and make some very special memories.”
KidsFest Abu Dhabi opens at 3pm until 11pm from the 15th to the 19th October 2013. Admission is free, and vouchers required for certain activities can be purchased throughout the event.
