THE TRACK @thetrackmeydan ISSUES TOUGHEST CHALLENGE TO REGION'S GOLFERS

The Track has issued its toughest challenge to the region's golfers with the Black Tee Challenge on Saturday 9th November.

The competition throws down the gauntlet to the region's top players, asking them to card their best round over 18 holes from the toughest tee available at Meydan Golf's 9-hole course - which, at 7,412 yards (14,824 yards over 18 holes) is one of the longest courses in the region.
Easing into the round is not an option at The Track. The monster 663 yard par 5 opening tee is notorious as being one of the toughest holes in the Middle East. A wayward shot from this tee has been known to ruin an entire round.

"The course was designed by Peter Harradine and is deceptively difficult," said General Manager and club professional, Thomas Rourke. "I have played it hundreds of times and each time it throws up a new surprise. It's unpredictable and that's the biggest test of any golf course - and when you're playing from the Black Tee here, it makes it all the more difficult.
"The challenge is open to anyone who fancies it, but you really need to have your complete game together. You need to combine huge drives, particularly from the first tee, with good approach and green work. This is our toughest competition yet."
