This year’s festival brings visitors a number of
activities: a Custom Bike Building Competition, Thunder Parade, The Pump Track,
Street Bike Stunts, 12 live local bands and DJs, plenty of delicious food and
beverage options, and over 100 leading bike brands showcasing the latest bikes,
riding gear and accessories.
For artists and designers that share the passion of
creating stylish and bold motorcycles, Gulf Bike week will be returning this
year once again with the Custom Bike Building Championship – a contest
showcasing unique engineering talent from bike builders. Judged across 13 classes, bikes will be evaluated
based on overall harmony, modifications, style, finish, paint-jobs, wiring,
self-made improvements, technical work on the frame, engine, suspension and
breaks, metal work, and style innovation.
The festival this year will also see the legendary
Thunder Parade return. Starting this year from Dubai Media City at 2pm on 25
October, the parade will have over one thousand bikes take center-stage as regional bike clubs and individual bikers will participate
in an organised tour of the city. Providing
a spectacular vision of urban biking culture in the region, the Thunder Parade
is one of the most-awaited activities during the festival where people who
share the love and passion of these high-revving machines come together.
Furthermore, catering
to their younger audience, the festival organisers have roped in Adventure HQ
to put up the Pump Track
at the park, where young and old scooter riders, cyclists and skateboards can
participate to showcase their talents. Enjoyed by adventurists of all levels
worldwide, the twisty and tight pump track will challenge any rider’s skill. Providing
anyone and everyone with the opportunity to test their biking tricks and
stunts, the activity guarantees to provide a unique experience to festival
visitors.
This year, the organisers
are using the festival as a platform to showcase the best local talent in the
region. Bands performing at the event this year include Jay Wud, Point of View,
Chronicles of Khan, The Maplejacks, The Boxtones (winners of Rolling Stone’s
Street to Stage), Juliana Down, Sandwash, Salha & The Million Dollar Band,
Riff Raff, and Screemin Egulz; apart from DJ Kinky D. who will spin the latest
tracks throughout the event.
Known for bringing performers
from across the world to exhibit thrilling stunts and skills, this year the
audiences of this premiere motoring event will also witness Street Bike
Stunts from Red Bull's Shadi Al Dhaheri – a world-renowned Saudi street bike stunt rider as
well as the Flair
Freestyle Trial Show from Flair Riders and Jack Fields - the former world’s
number one freestyle motocross rider.

Apart
from all the family and biking related activities, the show will see also
leading motorbike brands showcasing their extraordinary new products catering
to hard-core bike enthusiasts. Some of the products that will be launched and
showcased in Dubai for the first time during the festival include: Ecojumbo - one of the best
electric scooter’s in Europe; the first gold motorcycle by Danish motorcycle
builder Lauge Jensen; and Moto Guzzi’s models such as Moto Guzzi California
1400 (Touring and Custom version) and Vespa 946.

Organised by MECOM Forums, a Clarion Events
partner and brought to you by Dubai Calendar, tickets for the festival are priced at AED 60 per
day for adults, AED 20 per day for kids under the age of 12, and can be
purchased at the venue itself, or online via TimeOut Tickets, Platinum List, or
