@DUCTAC @Dubai_DTCM World Premiere Debuts In Dubai; ‘Salsa Fever - 100 Years of Latin Music And Dance’

The World Premiere of ‘Salsa Fever - 100 years of Latin Music and Dance’ debuts at the region’s largest dance festival, the Dubai International Dance Festival (DIDF) later this month.

The sixth DIDF, supported by the Dubai Tourism Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is set to kick off its sixth year from 25th to 28th September 2013 at The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Center (DUCTAC), Mall of the Emirates.

This year’s main highlight is the production of ‘Salsa Fever - 100 years of Latin Music and Dance’, a musical the story of ‘The history of Salsa’ like it has never been told before.

The performance, presents a unique twist, where the voice of the singers together with the element of dance takes you on a journey through the centuries.

It starts with reliving the birth and evolution of Salsa, from the roots of Africa in the 1400’s to birth of salsa in Cuba, the rise of the Fania All Stars in the 1970’s, the era of Salsa Romantica & Latin Pop and ends at the amazing fusion of dance and music of today.

The four day event hosted by Familia de la Salsa also features over 25 different workshops including Salsa, Zouk, Belly Dancing, Hip Hop, African Dance, Brazilian Samba and Tango. The workshops will cater to all levels of dance and is led by the best instructors from national, regional and international dance schools.

In additional to the dance workshops, DIDF 2013 will host a series of performances, parties, after parties and other exciting events at varies venues around Dubai.
