Global Village @GlobalVillageAE announces a stronger senior management team with the appointment of three experienced Emiratis to key roles

 New Team Brings Fresh Thinking and Innovative Approaches to delivering the very best in leisure and entertainment

Global Village, the region’s leading Cultural, Shopping and Entertainment family outdoor destination, has announced a decision to bring fresh thinking, ideas and innovation to its management team with the recruitment of three experienced Emirati executives to key management roles.

The new members of the management team will be responsible for operational activities, commercial operations, Government relations and administration and will be vital members of a senior team committed to delivering the very best in leisure and entertainment to an estimated five-million plus visitors in the coming 2013-2014 season.

Ahmad Hussain Bin Essa has been appointed as the Executive Director of Operations, while Fahad Al Khaja who becomes the Director Government Relations and Administration Departments and Ahmed AbdulRahim Al Marri takes on the role of Commercial Director.

In his new role as Global Village Executive Director of Operations Ahmad, who has completed the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum leadership programme brings with him more than 12 years of experience in a number of the most prominent organisations in the UAE.

Having graduated with a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the UK, Ahmad has worked for the ADNOC Group, the Engineer’s Office in Dubai and Du. This wide ranging experience has helped to give him operational skills in crisis management, quality control, team leadership, and surveillance. He has also headed the Event and Facilities Department at Du in addition to being a Board Director on a number of leading organisations.


Fahad Al Khaja will bring over 20 years’ experience in management and governmental relations to the position of Global Village Director of Government Relations & Administration. Fahad has previously worked as the Head of Governmental Relations and Protocol at The Dubai Film Festival and at customer care centre in Tecom Investments.

Ahmed Al Marri takes on his new role of Global Village Commercial Director with more than 15 years of business experience in communications at Etisalat, one of the leading organizations in the UAE. Al Marri was recently the Senior Manager for Regional Sales Center Coordination & Retail Sales Fit-Out in addition to managing sales and outlets.

The new appointments come as Global Village continues its commitment to ensuring a fresh and dynamic approach to the organisation’s leadership and giving Emirati talent the chance to take on operational and management roles for the biggest outdoor tourism attraction in the Middle East.


All three of the individuals appointed are highly experienced and qualified executives who have been recruited based on their expertise, talents, and performance in their previous roles.
