Seventy-four pairs of golfers have taken part in the seven month-long stableford tournament and after seven rounds and a barrage of birdies and bogeys, nine points separate the top two pairs.
The best scores from four of the seven rounds are counted to the final overall score and currently Jose Manuel Silva Pelayo and Jose Manuel Silva Mijares are in pole position with 179 points. The pair are firm favourites to take the title having carded the highest stableford score of any pair so far, 48. They have also proved that consistency is key to their success with scores of 45, 43 and 43.
In second place is the pairing of Michiel Blauw and Barry Pavic, on 170. To take top spot in the final round they would have to score 53 points to finish ten above the leaders. Considering their highest score to date is 44, it will take a super-human effort to overcome the leading pair.
In third place are William and David Duncan with 148 points.
James Leeman, Marketing Manager at The Track, "This has been one of our most successful tournaments, not just in terms of numbers but also the engagement we have had with the players over the past seven months.
"This weekend will conclude the competition, but we have already begun the process of organising the next event.
"In the meantime, our summer timetable of events will be out soon which will contain plenty of events for players to get involved in at The Track. There's also our AED195 summer evening rate for those that just want to pay and play."
The winners of the AGMC BMW Pairs event wins 7 weeks of Free Golf at Meydan.
