Al Jazeera Sport builds on its strong subscriber
base as Barclays Premier League joins the line-up to create the complete
football package
Global sports broadcaster, Al Jazeera Sport, has
reported its most successful start ever to the 2013-2014 European football
season as the Barclays Premier League and La Liga kicked off over the weekend.
All 380 matches of the 2013-2014
Barclays Premier League are available exclusively on Al Jazeera Sport’s TV and
digital channels across the MENA* region following the acquisition of exclusive
media rights to the Barclays Premier League football in the Middle East and
North Africa for three years. The market leading football line-up now available
on Al Jazeera Sport also includes La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and top
international football.
Also new this season on Al
Jazeera Sport is the addition of four new HD channels bringing it to a total of
six HD channels to add to the 14 regular sports channels in the full sport
package. Existing subscribers are able to upgrade their current subscription to
enjoy the benefits. There has been an overwhelmingly positive response from
subscribers across the MENA region with Al Jazeera Sport subscribers registering
at more than twice the rate of any previous season during the opening weekend.

Arabic coverage of the Barclays Premier League while the English studios
feature Richard Keys and Andy Gray, who have been at the heart of the Barclays Premier
League since coverage began. The opening weekend also had special expert guests
including Mido, Kevin Keegan, David Platt and Ruud Gullit.
