@YouTube YouTube Expands Monetization and Partnership Reach in the Arab World

YouTube is growing fast the Middle East. After launching eight local domains in MENA, we are extending the reach to the rest of the GCC to include Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. A local version of YouTube means that people who visit the site will see on the homepage the most popular videos in their home country along with those that are rising in popularity. If you create and upload a video, other people in your country -- and possibly around the world -- are more likely to be able to find and watch your creation.

In addition, following the huge success of introducing monetization in the UAE, KSA and Egypt, we are also extending monetization to the rest of the Arab world with a full range of advertising solutions for Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Morocco. This presents a big opportunity for advertisers who want a Pan-Arab advertising solution. With a deeper understanding of the user, they can also reach different segments of the population through their interests and topics.

Advertisers can now book home page (banner advertisements on the YouTube home page) and watch page ads on YouTube, including TrueView. This format where advertisers pay for engaged views only has revolutionized advertising as we know it. The user experience is optimised as they only watch ads they want to watch. With TrueView in stream ads users can skip ads within the first five seconds of the ad and the advertiser only pays when users choose not to skip.

The YouTube Partnership Program now available throughout MENA allows content creators to make money and grow their business online. Users in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Morocco with a YouTube account which uploads original content can now become a partner simply by clicking and following the monetization tab from their account. This gives them an array of features including the ability to generate revenue out of their channel upload views, improve their skills and build their audience.

The YouTube Partner Program offers many features to help the YouTube content creator strengthen their YouTube page. Check out this Playbook to learn more. Being a YouTube partner also opens partners to a vibrant partner network where eager mentors and collaborators await, brimming with creativity – view the video here.

We want brands and content creators alike to be successful on YouTube and leverage the platform across any device - mobile, tablet, laptop or desktop. In MENA, with more than 300 million views a day - we want to continue to be forum that connects, informs, and inspires original-content creators and advertisers large and small.
