As the countdown continues to the 18th season of Global
Village, its senior management team and
representatives of Dubai Municipality have conducted a site visit to verify on
the final preparations for the event.
The visit was led by the recently appointed
Executive Director of Operations Ahmed Hussain bin Essa, senior colleagues and
a team of engineers from the Constriction and Inspections department at Dubai
Municipality.
The specialist engineering team undertook
the supervision and checks of steel and metal structures on the large site to
finally check that everything was in compliance with Dubai Municipality
regulations for construction, safety and security.
Meanwhile Global Village management were
undertaking other final preparations and checking the status of infrastructure,
pavilion, kiosks and the many commercial retail outlets that will be in
operation during the forthcoming season, amounting to more than 3000 outlets.
Commenting on the successful site visit,
Global Village Executive Director of Operations, Ahmad Hussain bin Essa said:
“We would like to thank the Dubai Municipality and Civil Defence
representatives for their continued diligence and support in ensuring that all
of our facilities meet the appropriate safeguards and standards. Their support
ensures that we are on schedule and ready to open our doors for the 18th
season of Global Village in October 5th.”
During the visit Dubai Municipality
engineers also undertook supervision of a number of new gateway entrances that
are being introduced for the coming season that will have special historical
themes linked to the past from London and Egypt among others to provide an
exciting new experience for visitors when they arrive at Global Village.
“The creation of a new look to the Gates
and a wide range of other new and innovative attractions will make Global
Village an even more exciting place to visit this season – especially for
families and children,” added Ahmad Hussain bin Essa.
